Alpha Ethan Blackwood’s POV
The private war room of the Blackwood main estate was suffocatingly tense as Ethan stood before his immediate family and inner circle. He had gathered them to formally lay out the strategy for the following evening.
"Tomorrow night, before the Elders' Council, I am formally dissolving the mate bond with Lane," Ethan announced, his voice echoing off the stone walls.
He intentionally kept the part about banishment to himself. He had only threatened Lane with exile to scare her a little, to shake her out of her unyielding arrogance and force her to bring Doctor Jean back. Despite his burning anger, he wasn't a monster; he wasn't actually going to cast her out into the wild to be torn apart with no home to her name. He just needed her to be compliant again.
