I really don't want to keep you in the dark for long but we'll go for a quick commercial break and when we bounce back, we'll get to know it all, stay tuned" "Welcome back from the break. Once again, I'm Yvonne Lawson, your host on The unbeatable. Without further ado, I'll like to introduce the guest for today. She's is respected by all, adored by many and feared by some. The famous business tycoon, well known as,The Lioness who never be pleased. With due respect, Ladies and gentlemen, I'll like to introduce to you, Louella Walker'' "Welcome to the show. It's a pleasure having you here Louella." "Same here" I smile "Alright, CEO of Lovely Walkers. Tell me, how has the journey been?" "Um, if I'm being honest with y'all, it hasn't been an easy path at all. Setting up my own company and growing it into something as big as this, it's a dream come true." "Very well, we know you as a fierce young lady. Whenever you talk, there's this aura you emit. How did you get this confidence?" "Well, I think I owe this to my mom and friend, Elda Walker for the motherly love, believing in me, giving me all the support I needed emotionally and for encouraging me. She was there to motivate me when I felt down. If you're watching this, thank you mom, I love you." I smile "Aww, that's so sweet of her. Great mothers like Elda Walker should be applauded" The statement earns roars from the audience and I smile. "You recently won the 'CEO of the year' award. How does it feel to win this award three times in a row?" "Amazing. Simply amazing. I mean, I knew I was going to make it but I just didn't think I'll go as far as winning awards" I chuckle, still trying to believe it." I think, I just underestimated myself in the beginning" "You're such an amazing woman Louella" A round of applause from the crowd has me smiling "Thank you.'' "You're intelligent, you're resilient, you're...I can't even find the words" She chuckles" You're,you're simply an amazing woman and you handle everything in a way that I admire, with such wisdom and you've shown that you're unbeatable indeed." ''Thank you Yvonne" "You're welcome Louella. Everyone needs a role model and you're definitely every girl's role model" She pauses for a moment and she seems to be so interested in the conversation "So, tell me, what do you attribute your success to? Is it hard work? What exactly? "She asks "Hard work. Perseverance. It might seem like a no-brainer and you might just think it's easy but it isn't. You have to work hard, believe that you can do it and begin. Nothing is going to be easy but once you achieve your aim, you'll know that all the sleepless nights were not in vain. Ask for help, no man is an island. I understood that I couldn't do everything on my own and people helped me on my road to success. My parents and my employees have been so helpful and they're the reason why Lovely Walkers is what it is today." "I like that, I love that." She nods" So as a millionaire that you are, do you think you've reached optimum? I mean, you have it all, the money, the fame, a caring mother whom you consider your friend." "Optimum? I haven't reached my optimum" "You're one of the most successful women in London .You're a millionaire at twenty three. What more do you need?" "I haven't reached my peak at all. For me, I think that, there's no rest in this life. There's rest in the grave. So I'm not going to relax and say that I've reached my peak. No.I'll only reach my peak when I'm dead. I believe that, there's always something you can do to better your situation. So I've not reached my optimum" "Wow! Impressive! So my last question for you is, what do you think is the most important thing to consider when pursuing a career?" "Happiness. That's the most important thing." "Happiness?" "Yes. I think that once you're happy with what you're doing, it's enough. It doesn't really matter what you're doing. Once you're happy with it and it's not going to affect the society negatively, it's okay. It doesn't matter if you're not earning so much. You just have to do what you love so well and the money would come to you." "That's true. I'd have loved to continue this conversation with you Louella but time isn't our friend today. But,before we end this conversation, what are your final words to the public, to those looking up to you? Any encouragement?" "I just want to say that, it's okay to rest, but it's not okay to quit. Also, nothing can prevent you from doing what you want. Because the truth is, it's you preventing yourself from doing that thing. You're limitless, you're unbeatable, you're unstoppable, you're a winner" " 'You're limitless, you're unbeatable, you're unstoppable, you're a winner'. That's right. Thank you so much for honoring this invitation Louella" "It's a pleasure" "I really enjoyed this conversation. Ladies and Gentlemen, we've been speaking with famous Louella Walker, The Lioness who can never be pleased, Award winning CEO of Lovely Walkers. This is the Unbeatable and I'm your host, Yvonne Lawson, see you same time, next week. Have a good night" ... Laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, I can't help but think of how much has changed in ten years. Mom got married to Ambrose McLord and I have Stephanie, my eight year old little sister who just seems too intelligent for her age. I feel so good almost happy, knowing I have people who care about me. The ring tone of my phone distracts my thoughts and my mom's picture flashes through the screen. "Mom." "I'm so proud of you Ella. I'm sure your dead parents and sister are too" She sniffs. No they aren't! Not until they get justice. "Are you crying?" I ask and she sniffs again "No. I'm just so happy that you're doing what you always wanted to do. I'm so happy, knowing the progress you've made. You're not fully healed but you've made a remarkable progress and I'm proud of you" "Thank you mom. For not giving up on me, and supporting me through out. I love you mom" I smile and I know for a fact that she's smiling too. "I love you Louella. I've to go now, Steph insists on me reading her bedtime stories" "Okay mom, I'll come over this weekend, hopefully. I miss my mini-me" I chuckle remembering the pet name she insists on me calling her. "Yes, please do. She hasn't stopped talking about you"
