Part 20 Their second-semester exam was over. After a one-year break, they rejoined college again. Kishore, Saniya, Aaron, and Lisa were now second-year students. When the first-year students joined that year, it was the second-year students who had to handle their admissions and other matters. Normally, problems in college would begin only from the third year. But Aaron and his team had already caused issues in the first year itself, and in the second year too, there were big problems. That year, Kishore and Aaron did not have major clashes until the first-semester exam was over. After a few days, the college arts festival began. This time, Lisa could not participate in the beauty competition. According to the college rules, once a student competed in the beauty contest in the first year, they were not allowed to compete again in the second year. They could only compete again in the third year. That year, the Miss College Beauty title was won by Monica, a fourth-year student. In the modeling competition, Aaron participated with Hrithik, a third-year student who had full control over the event. The situation during the second year came to an end with the last semester exam. By then, no one was remembering Jennifer anymore. Thus, two years passed since they had joined college, and now they had reached the third year. --- Part 21 After two years since the Plus Two exam, Saniya, Kishore, Aaron, Lisa, and their team were now third-year students. As every year, the fashion show festival was held during the college Arts Day. This time, the entire responsibility for the program was given to Aaron. Aaron prepared the program schedule in a professional manner. As soon as the program was announced, Aaron went to every class and noted down the names of those who were interested in participating in the fashion show. After collecting all the names, he scheduled the practice sessions. Later, while checking the list of names, he came across one name that sounded very familiar. He had gone to every class himself to announce the program, but the person who had registered that name was someone else. Because of this doubt, he went to the section where practice was happening to confirm. But he did not see the face he was expecting. So, he dropped the investigation there itself. Practice for the program started around one and a half months before the actual event. Two or three days before the program, all the contestants were called again to confirm their participation, and their names were read out one by one. When the name “Jennifer” was called, Lisa’s expression instantly changed from happiness to tension. Everyone who recognized that name also became tense. One of the first-year contestants said: Contestant: “I don’t know if she is really competing. She hasn’t attended any of the practice sessions. Even if she comes here sometimes, she doesn’t practice.” Aaron asked eagerly: Aaron: “Is she a first-year?” The contestant nodded her head in agreement. Hearing this, everyone felt relieved. Though they had forgotten the Plus Two batch Jennifer, just hearing that name gave them tension. --- On the day of the competition The contest was conducted in five rounds. The first round was the self-introduction round. Everyone introduced themselves in their own style. When Jennifer’s name was called, Aaron and his friends were filled with curiosity. She came forward and said her name, department, year of study, and then spoke about her dreams, her interest in fashion, her hobbies, and her strengths. Looking at Jennifer, Aaron did not feel that her face was familiar. In fact, none of the details she spoke matched with the Jennifer he once knew. The first round ended, and a few contestants were eliminated. The second round was the concept round. On the first day itself, these two rounds were completed. (The competition was spread over three days as part of Arts Day, which was an eight-day-long program in total.) On the second day, the creative round and the ramp walk were conducted. In these rounds too, both Lisa and Jennifer remained among the winners.
