Good days and bad days passed, but I was lucky I had people by my side. After Brad had told everyone I was still looking at the pictures of Lewis, they all decided to make it clear that I was to be occupied at all times. “I don’t need babysitting.” I spat with my arms folded. “It’s not babysitting, it's making sure you’re okay and you dont waste any time on that piece of shit.” Brad spat back. “And if you roll your eyes at me one more time Liv.” He threatened as I finished off the eye roll. Knowing it was an empty threat, I flipped him off and walked back to my room not forgetting to slam down behind me.
Brad and Aaron had become somewhat protective over me. If I walked down the street and a male even tried to look my way, they were there like rottweilers. Aaron claimed it was to stop me getting hurt again, I claimed that it was just damn boring. A small part of me understood because of how long it has taken me to fall asleep without crying.
Beth was being great, we did things most days together in between her ringing back home to make sure her shop was running smoothly. I kinda felt guilty about her being here to ‘babysit’ me rather than focusing on her business that she worked so hard to get. “Beth you can go home you know, the kray twins outside will make sure I don't have fun without you.” I mentioned to her, nodding towards the living room where Aaron and Brad sat. I saw her eyes catch mine, searching for truth. “You have to promise me you’re okay.” She asked. “Cross my heart and hope to die.” I smiled holding my hand across my heart. “Okay okay, i’ll book a train tomorrow.” She said holding her hands up in defence. “But before I do, we are going out tonight. Like out out.” She said smiling, pretty proud of herself. I smiled, shaking my head, knowing I wasn’t getting out of this one.
By the time I came out of the shower, it was apparent everyone was going out tonight. Beth couldn't help herself but invite the whole house. I didn’t mind but I knew I had to get something straight. Wrapped in a fluffy towel, I marched into the living room to find the boys sat there. Ollie and Liam gulped at the sight of me just in a towel, with the water from my wet hair dripping down. Aaron was obviously unphased having grew up with me, but Brad, a stern look on his face as if he was telling me off for coming out in just a towel. I shook him off before proceeding. “Right. Males are going to talk to me tonight. Some of them I might want to talk to back. You 4 don’t get to choose, okay? If I don’t want to talk and I need help, I’ll hold 3 fingers up behind my back, that's your queue to be the little ankle biting chihuahuas you aspire to be. Understood?” I finished with a sickly sweet smile. 3 out of the 4 nodded. I turned my head to Brad. “What if I can’t see your fingers?” He challenged me. “I’ll always stand with my back to you.” I shut him down. He slowly nodded agreeing, satisfied I had got my point across I went to get ready.
I walked back into my dressing room, pretty proud of myself. I hadn’t worn my engagement ring since I had spoken to Lewis that night, it caught the night on my dressing table. Quickly looking away from it, I heard footsteps come into my room. Half expecting it to be Brad here to argue against my plan, I was shocked to see Beth there ready and dressed up looking amazing. “You look insane.” I told her, making her spin round. She was a strappy bandage dress that showed off her figure, tall stilettos making her more average height. “Why aren’t you ready?” She asked with her hands on her hips. Her eyes then darted to the ring on my dresser. “You weren’t- Do I have to call Brad in here?” She said cutting herself off, looking at me with eyes that said ‘you better not have been thinking about that damn ass hat.’ “f**k off Beth.” I laughed jokingly, “I was just wondering what the hell do with my hair or what to wear for that matter.” I said realising I was clueless.
