Lily had no idea where she was or how she'd ended up here. All she knew was that the pain in her heart wasn't going away any time soon. After Duke Max's death, James had made quick work of arresting Vesky. His men had opened the gates letting in more soldiers that had previously left the palace to join Prince Carl underground. All the nobles that had stood against James were also arrested.
Amidst all this chaos, James still found the time to escort her to a warm bed and instruct Lady Molly to not leave her side.
"The orphans," Lily finally croaked out as her eyes landed on Lady Molly.
"They're safe," Lady Molly assured, patting Lily's cold hand. "Let me draw you a bath Princess."
