The wedding only a handful of days away and people had began piling into the palace. Friends of Vesky seemed all too eager to watch his puppet take the throne. They were all holed up in his study, planning duplicitous means of getting rich through over-taxing the people and providing substandard services.
Alexei couldn't care less what was going on. Let Vesky think he'd be his puppet all so that old man could get rich. Alexei hadn't made this far just because of Vesky. Oh no. He was smart and once he took the crown that was rightfully his, he'd show them all exactly what he was capable of. Humming a tune to himself, he suddenly ran into Sasha who seemed to be hastily making her way towards her rooms.
"Watch it sister," Alexei grumbled as packages tumbled from beneath Sasha's cloak.
