CHAPTER 5 THE WOMAN The woman’s shoulders slumped slightly as she admitted the futility of trying to strike out on her own. Her bodyguards were both lying dead out front in the parking lot. At least one sniper was out there, too, and there were no doubt other people intent on grabbing her – not that she was in any way eager to admit she knew more about the situation than she’d so far let on to the man Ellis and the girl Annie.
