COUNTDOWN
Luke dropped the dead terrorist to the ground, letting him fall in a lifeless heap. He felt neither satisfaction at killing him nor anger at what the man had done and had once been. He needed to die and Ellis meant to be the cause of his death, simple as that.
Looking down, he could see that his Yarborough knife – given only to graduates of the Army’s Special Forces ‘Q’ course and named after William P. Yarborough, “the Father of Modern Green Berets” – was still in his hand. He quickly wiped the terrorist’s blood from it using his pant leg and then stowed it in the sheath attached to the belt on his waist.
