FEBRUARY, SIX MONTHS LATER

Annie, Darren and their father Mark and mother Janelle sat around their dining room table stunned. Two men had just left, both delivering no small amount of amazing news to them all.
“I can’t believe it!” Annie, now 18 years old, squealed happily.
The first man who’d visited their home had just informed her that all four years of her education at the University of Virginia, come late August when it finally reopened, were now fully paid for. That fact amazed her, as the school had had to rescind all scholarships last year in the aftermath of the terror attacks which had caused hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars in damage to the campus.
