Or maybe the end result hadn’t been so inadvertent, huh? She’d clearly seen the possibility of what might ensue as far as her DNA-altering organism was concerned. Starting at the molecular level, her virus would do amazing things for the world. If it could be controlled, that is. I thought I could control it. Or I hoped I could! Fully knowing the risks, she’d chosen to go down one path – one promising much faster development, though with more risk than she knew she should have accepted -- rather than the other much safer one. It would take years of testing and experimentation, all done ethically, to travel that path while the riskier way promised a few weeks at most to obtain the glittering prize.
