Ruck run and CrossFit session over, Luke Ellis was freshly showered and shaved and otherwise looking and feeling good as he piloted his crew cab, four-by-four pickup truck southeast toward Lucketts, the Virginia town nearest to his home. The truck -- bought with some of the hazardous duty and combat pay he’d earned over the years while serving as a Green Beret and Delta operator -- was about the most-common vehicle driven by US special operations personnel next to the lifted and highly modified Jeeps that seemed to multiply like weeds whenever any US military SPECOPS unit was back on base after an overseas deployment or mission.
