"LADIES, congratulations! You were all wonderful," our stage manager, Miss Lulu, praised us excitedly. The fashion show that had just ended was a huge success. Miss Lulu is a vibrant gay fashion enthusiast.
Two years ago, I became an accidental model because I was asked to fill in for one of the models while we were on our way to an event in Paris. Because it was so sudden, I went from being Miss Lulu’s assistant to becoming a professional model.
But I am never included on international runways. That was our agreement. On the rare occasions it is unavoidable, I wear a mask when I go out on stage as Mystery Rose. That is my screen name, and that is how the other models know me.
