Prologue

Long ago, in an enchanted dimension full of good magic, a young girl was gifted with great powers. Her name was Alena, and she was the new guardian of the four basic elements. Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. She was to guard them from evil who sought them for destructive reasons. Alena did her duty for many years, protecting and learning to control the elements for good. But, another sought these powers as well. An evil man born of the darkest fires of hell and was so power-hungry, that he destroyed his own family for their powers. Then once the moons aligned and the veils between the dimensions thinned, he broke out of his hell dimension and into Alena’s enchanted one. He storms Alena’s castle with his army of darkness in an attempt to steal her power from her. Alena saw him coming and her own army of light fought hard to protect her and her powers. But, hard as they fought, they could not prevail against the powers of darkness. In a final attempt to protect the powers, she fled to the top of the tallest tower and opened the veil to another dimension. Casting the powers from her and dividing them into the 4 separate elements, she sent them through the veil to find to 4 who would become the new Guardians. Just as the veil closed, the man entered the chamber and advanced on her. “Where are they!?” he demanded, raising his gleaming silver sword to her throat. “Give them to me!” “You will never get them, you monster. They are gone, and you will never get me to tell you where they are” she hissed at him. “I will kill you if you don’t tell me now” he yelled, pressing the sword tip into her neck and drawing blood. Keeping her calm, she held her ground against him. “Go on, kill me. But I never tell you where the powers have gone” Growling like the monster he was, he lowered his sword and, with lightning-fast movements, grabbed her neck. With a twist of his wrist, he snapped it, then tossed her body aside like a child’s rag doll. Moving to the window, he jumped out and landed effortlessly on the ground far below. Raising his sword over his head, he drove it into the ground. Then, like a wave, darkness spread like a disease over the land. The darkness choked out everything that was pure and good in the dimension, leaving the land barren and dark. The man was only minorly satisfied with claiming the dimension. But he vowed that one day, those elemental powers would be his, and then the entire universe would bow down to his power.
