TWO DAYS LATER

"You are looking the part,I forgot to ask what your job is?" Hunter asked in a whisper again he had crept up on me like he always did. I just shook my head.

"I don't know, I think it is a secretary or something. I just know it is in a reputable company" I informed him with a shrug but he was definitely not assured as he turned me to face him.

"Are you sure this job is safe, you don't even know your supposed role there" He said I could see the concern in his face but he was just being too paranoid to me.

"Stop being paranoid, Hunter. it is not that of a big deal I can handle it" I said and taped on his shoulder I did my final touches and said. "Just in case I am working at the Fiddle private company. I will see you bye" I said and smiled before shutting the door behind me.

I took a cab and got to the company quickly, I introduced myself to the receptionist and she showed the directions in which I was supposed to go I thanked her and followed hee instructions I knocked on the door as I didn't want to barge into the office

"In!" I heard a deep low voice from the office. It was actually a little bit terrifying to be honest. I wished myself luck one more time and I opened the door before walking in.

"I am " I tried introducing myself to him but he cut me short from my words, now I know

that he definitely didn't have any regard for his employees.

"I don't need to know about you, I have read your file, I just have a few rules for you." "You inform me of my schedule and you will also help sort out some documents in the company" He said and I nodded. That was a pretty moderate reply for me.

"You must also always be on call." He said and I nodded. His rules were at least a little bit understandable. He seemed a lot crueller than the manager I saw but his rules weren't too harsh.

"Sylvester!" He called and a man entered, he looked tall and well built. He was probably his bodyguard.

"Arrange an office for her" he said and Sylvester pointed out the way for me, not only did he seem cold, the one helping him seemed even worse. I followed him and I got to an office it was just a few legs away from the CEO's office

"You will be sent a few files to handle," Sylvester said walked off, there were the only two I had seen but damn their faces weren't friendly at all.

It was getting a few minutes away before we finished work for the day but there was just this file I couldn't understand. I stood up and went to his office. I knocked on his door and hearing his affirmation I walked in with the girl in my hand.

"I don't want to disturb you but I don't understand much on this" I said and dropped the file on his desk he took a glance at it and pushed it away

"The accounts aren't right,it will be dealt with." he said and I nodded, packing the files ready to walk off but his question stopped me "Is there anything on my schedule?" He asked me to turn to face him.

"Yes,you have a general meeting at two" I said and he checked the time before saying "Be here on time you will come along to the meeting" he said and I walked out of the place to go to the office I went back to him om time and we both went to the staff meeting room.

He spoke about some stocks and market dropping of stock,all did was to make sure I jotted everything he said. We finished the meeting around four and he let me take the leave.

"You came back early." Hunter said he was sitting in front of the TV. It was pretty weird because he always made a fuss about his work.

"You mean you came home early anyway I want to take a shower first" I said and went to the bathroom I came back after a few minutes and he smiled before asking

"How was your work?" He asked and I returned the smile, he was about to inquire about everything that happened to me he was probably not going to end there.

"It was good,the boss is actually a nice person but he has a cold face" I said and just like I expected he threw another question at me.

"He isn't troubling you is he?''He asked and I shook my head negatively "I am not a baby that won't say it when someone is troubling me" I said and he shrugged.

"Good luck with your job" he said and I smiled, he was quite protective, he was actually a nice person in general.

"What about you, why are you back home so early?" I asked, for someone I knew for so long he would never relent in his work.

He smiled "I took a leave from work and I am finally free" I raised a brow at him and before asking "You are sure there is nothing else to it?"

"Yes of course what else can it be" he said and I raised a brow at him. "You never know" I said and he rolled his eyes

Next Day

"You are working late hours today,I am trying to get a contract for the company" He informed me as soon as I got to his office

I smiled and nodded. Maybe this was the reason why he let me go back home so early yesterday.

I stood in his office all day,he took calls and typed numerous words on laptop while I helped with coffee and other things he needed. I couldn't comprehend a thing about all that he did. All I knew was that he did something.

"I am done,finally." He said and I smiled if he was done then that meant that I was also done and I could finally go home.

Hunter just kept on blasting my phone while I was working. It was like I was a little kid that they asked to protect.

"I would love to drop you off if you don't mind," he said and I smiled. He was rather nicer than how he behaved.

"I would really appreciate it because I missed the bus already" I said and he nodded. He seemed to acknowledge this was his mistake.

He had his keys and we both went to the elevator together. The bulbs twitched and the elevator stopped. All the lights in the place went off.

"What is wrong?" He asked to hit the elevator button but it didn't work.He brought out his phone and tried calling a few people but there was no network. He threw his phone down in anger.I looked at the phone which was now shattered and raised a brow.

He might be nice but he for sure has some anger issues. I wanted to bring my phone out but it was already out of battery and I didn't bother charging it because I didn't want Hunter to call me again.

"How long are we supposed to stay here?" He asked,he looked anxious to leave it was like there was something else at it.

I tried calling and shouting for help even trying the keys but it wasn't working. I had learnt some hacks but the elevator was stuck and not moving. I couldn't use them. I looked back and saw him crouched down in a corner.

"What is wrong boss?" I asked as I also bent by his side he held his heart area as he screamed in pain.

"Are you okay? Please don't scare me, I don't know what to do" I said anxiously. I just ran away from someone I didn't want to be arrested for something I knew nothing about.

"It is just an old illness, I will be fine." He said but I wasn't assured as he kept on holding onto his chest,he screamed in agony and pain and I held him.

"Just hold on... Someone will save us. Help!" I screamed again more desperately this time around. I couldn't let him die next to me.

He suddenly turned and hugged me tight. It was like he was transferring the pain to my body or something.

"You are a lot warmer,it should help me" he said,slowly the hug became more free and I guessed it was really making him feel better.

The elevator opened and I saw Hunter together with Sylvester I pulled away from the hug and got up.

"Are you fine,boss? I saw that your car didn't move and you weren't going through so I figured out you were here" Sylvester said and he nodded.

"Who is he to you?" He asked and I took a glance at Hunter and said "He is Chase my friend and Chase is my boss." They seemed to be immersed in something else. They both stared at each other like they knew each other from somewhere.

"He can take you home then" He finally uttered and he walked forward Sylvester following behind.

"I told you to mind your safety, you just wouldn't listen. Why were you guys this late in the first place?" Chase asked

"He asked me to work overtime for some things and I didn't charge my phone because you just kept on blasting it" I explained to him and he shrugged.

"Don't blame me! I was just worried" he said as we walked back home. Of course I knew he was worried but he took it too far sometimes.

THE NEXT DAY

FIDDLE PRIVATE COMPANY

"I heard they both kissed!" An employee said just quick enough for me to hear I raised an eyebrow and they quickly dispersed. I shrugged it off. I was still a little bit exhausted from last night but I had to work. I walked straight to my office probably to take a nap but someone came to meet me and said.

"The boss demands to see you." I stumped my feet as I went to his office forcefully. I was generally exhausted.

"There is a problem!" He said
