Chapter 6 - Someone New

As Renah is sleeping, her alarm rings and wakes her up.
"What time is it?" Renah says as she reaches for her phone.
"7:00 am already, I need to get going or else I'll be late for school," she said as she got up from her bed.
Renah quickly prepared herself for school.
She arrives just in time for her 1st class.
As she fixes her stuff, Josh greets her with a good morning and tells her important news.
"Good morning, Renah!" Josh said.
"Oh, likewise," Renah replied.
"Did you hear the news?" Josh asks.
"What news?" Renah responded.
"There's a new student coming today and I heard that he/ she's a transfer student from Silang Senior High School," John said.
"Oh, that's interesting." Renah replied, "I hope he/ she's in the same class as us."
"Yeah, I hope so too," Josh responded.
As they continue their chat, their adviser, Mr. Syd walks into their classroom and says something.
"Ok, good morning class. I hope everyone is in a good mood today. As you all know, a new student will be joining us today and she will be arriving a few minutes from now," he said.
Some minutes later, a tall, white, beautiful girl enters their classroom.
They all stand up and greet her.
She straightly goes up in front and introduces herself.
"I'm Trisha De Guzman and I'm 18 years of age. My hobbies are watching different shows, reading books/ novels, and hanging out with my friends. I'm a transfer student from Silang Senior High School. Hope to meet you all soon!"
"Thank you for that flashy introduction, Ms. De Guzman. I hope you enjoy your stay here." Mr. Syd enunciated as Trisha walked to her seat.
She seats beside Josh and fixes her things.
Josh quickly fixes himself and his stuff on his table.
He then introduces himself to Trisha.
"Umm, hello there, I'm Josh and —" He said as he suddenly got distracted upon making eye contact with Trisha.
"Yes?" Trisha asks as Josh tries to continue his line.
"and I'll be your seatmate for the whole semester or year maybe hehe." Josh awkwardly replied.
"I'm Trisha by the way, and nice meeting you!" Trisha responded.
They both shook their hands and Trisha continued to fix her stuff.
Their class started as usual and Josh didn't talk much all day.
After class, Josh asked Trisha if they could go home together.
"Umm, Trisha, do you mind if I walk home with you?" Josh nervously asks.
"Oh, sorry I have someone coming to fetch me, so maybe another time I guess?" Trisha replied.
"Ah yeah, it's okay, next time I guess," Josh responded.
Trisha's driver comes after that and fetches her.
Renah then asks Josh if they can go home together and Josh, who is looking embarrassed, accepts it.
As they go home, Renah tries to cheer up Josh.
"Hey, you looked down today. Do you mind if I can know the reason?" Renah asks.
"Isn't it obvious that I made myself embarrassed in front of the new student?" Josh replied.
"Big deal? You can make up tomorrow or another day and, besides, you only met her today." Renah said.
"I just spent the whole night yesterday trying to make a good impression and what happened today is completely the opposite." Josh unhappily responded.
"Oh, looks like it affected your personality hahaha, but you know what, there are still many ways to show your fun, energetic, talkative side to her. You didn't make a good first impression on her, but at least you're the first person she met at our school. Renah said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks for cheering me up. Looks like my friend here has some words of wisdom hahaha." Josh replied.
"Oh, stop it hahaha." Renash responded as they continued to walk their way home.
Renah arrives at their home and prepares their food for an early dinner.
She then gets to her bed and sleeps after a long, exhausting day.
