Chapter 9 - An Uninvited Guest

Renah woke up after a good night's sleep.

It's Saturday today and Renah is planning what to do.

She then prepares breakfast for the family and, after that, she does some household chores.

Her father is on a business trip.

Renah thinks of continuing her studies for the exam.

As she prepares her stuff, someone knocks on the door.

She then opens it and is shocked to see Josh.

"Oh, hi, good morning," Josh said as he fixed himself.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting you to come, come in," Renah replied.

She then quickly cleaned the house and fixed her room.

Josh comes in and greets Renah's mom.

"Good morning ma'am," Josh said.

"Oh good morning, are you Renah's boyfriend?" Renah's mom asked.

"MOM!" Renah replied.

"Ah, no, I'm her classmate hehe," Josh responded.

"Oh, I'm very sorry hehe, by the way, I'm Jane, Renah's mom," Jane replied.

"Oh, nice to meet you, I'm Josh," Josh responded.

They shook each other's hands as they got to know each other.

Renah and Josh then proceed to Renah's room.

Junior, who is Renah's younger brother, notices them and teases her.

"Oh, your boyfriend, huh? Didn't expect that my sis hahahaha." her brother said.

"Stop it junior, he's my classmate," Renah replied.

"Oh, sorry, hehe I'm Roy Jr., by the way, just call me junior," Junior said.

"Nice to meet you Roy ahem Junior," Josh replied.

Josh was amazed by how beautiful Renah's house was.

He was also speechless upon seeing Renah's room.

"Wow, your room looks so clean and organized," Josh said.

"Ahh, thanks, I cleaned it a while ago," Renah replied.

They then sat together and started to study.

Renah's mom also bakes some cake for them.

After hours of studying, they went to the kitchen to take a break.

Renah helps her mom prepare the table.

They all then ate some cake and drank some juice.

Josh couldn't stop eating it as it was so delicious.

"This is so delicious tita," Josh said to Renah's mom.

"Oh, thanks, dear. Appreciate it." Jane replied.

They finished their food and went back to Renah's room to continue their studies.

After some time of studying again, it was time for lunch.

Renah's mom cooks some lunch, which is tinola (A Filipino soup typically served with white rice as a main course. This meal is typically prepared with chicken or fish, papaya wedges, and siling labuyo chili pepper leaves in a broth seasoned with ginger, onions, and fish sauce).

They all then prayed before eating.

Josh quickly puts some rice on his plate and pours some soup on it.

He took his first bite and was instantly amazed by how delicious it was.

"Looks like you are enjoying it," Renah said.

"Yeah, it's so delicious, feels like I'm in heaven," Josh replied.

"Glad to hear that from you," Renah responded. "Eat more then."

Josh ate his second round of food and was full afterward.

He then helps Renah and her mom clean up.

He also helps them wash the dishes.

Renah and Josh then go to the living room and watched some series on Netflix.

They then continued studying after that.

Josh then fixes his stuff and prepares to go home as it was already getting dark.

"Thanks for letting me spend my day with you here, Renah. I really appreciate it." Josh said.

"Oh no problem, you can come here anytime," Renah replied.

"Really? That's good to hear then." Josh responded.

They said goodbye to each other and Josh also thanked Renah's mom for the food.

He then waits for a jeep and goes home.

Renah then prepares dinner for the family.

She then goes to sleep to prepare again for tomorrow.
