Chapter 2: Back Home

Seeing summer walking away hastily, he excused himself jogging towards her

"Summer wait up" he called

She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Jim. He was panting, she smiled

"Where you going" he asked breathlessly

"Home"

"So quick......let's find a place to eat first, then I'll drive you home okay"

"Sounds good, I'm starving already"

Together they enter to the restaurant beside the school, it was a popular place students came to eat, they ordered and ate. Summer waited beside Derek car while he paid, then they got into his car and he drove going towards summer house while chatting. Suddenly a car in front stopped and derek was a bit late to stop his car and ran into the car, cursing silently.

"Shit.....summer you okay" he glanced at summer

"Yeah, just a little bump"

Meanwhile in the other car a man sat with his face as dark as hell and he narrowed his eyes towards the man sitting in the driver seat, the man swallowed.

"Sir, someone just crossed and I had to step on the brake abruptly, i am sosorry" he pleaded

"Check that car behind us" he said nonchalantly

By now derek has come out with summer to inspect his motor, everything seemed fine except the scratch on the car in front of him, then a man came out of the car, he took a look at his car and apologized for stopping so suddenly in the road, he asked if they needed any other consolation but derek answered no, he apologized again and walked back to his car and zoomed off.

Derek later dropped summer close to her house, she thanked him and he zoomed off.

The man came out of the car staring at the villa in front of him, he stood in his complete height, with a pair of sunglasses to complete his handsome look, he was glad to be back home, he was tired and needed........

"Dev.....you're back" a small voice called out interrupting Devlin out of his thoughts, he turned to look, it was his younger sister bianca, he smiled and picked her up from the ground, kissing her cheeks, she had her small hands wrapped around his neck, he was going to suffocate.

They all went inside with Bianca holding tightly to Devlin hands.

He excused himself and went up to his room to take a quick shower, before coming down to eat. After the meal he asked for his father and was told he was out of the country, he nodded. He chatted with Bianca till she fell asleep before putting her to bed, he came out of her room and went to his room.

He has been out of the country for three years for business and had just returned, he opened his laptop to work. After working for an hour he shut down the system and went to bed.

Summer saw Mr hart at home one afternoon which was surprising, he was always at work by this time, he was talking to rita in hushed tones. When she came in they stopped talking, she nodded a greeting to them but received no answer, she walked up to her room and closed the door shut, she could hear them continue their conversation. Taking out her books to continue an unfinished assignment, when she heard a knock, she told the person to come in, it was a maid who told her Mr Hart needed her downstairs, she immediately got up and practically ran down the stairs to the living room where she saw Mr Hart and his wife sitting down, she saw rita roll her eyes at her.

"You are going somewhere tomorrow, and you are going to work for that person" Mr Hart explained

Summer Instinct told her this was not going to be good!!

"Where am I going and why am I going to work" she asked calmly

Rita flared up" you have no right to question us, you are going to work okay" she puffed.

Summer was getting angry at this. Why was she suddenly going to work! What was going on!

"Go back to your room and get ready, after school tomorrow I'll pick you up" Mr Hart said and got up going to his room while rita followed bumping summer in the shoulder.

She stood still in the living room, not moving, she was thinking what this people were up to, was it that they don't want her anymore or did she do anything wrong. She couldn't understand. The door opened and monica came in carrying lot of shopping bags in her hand, she stopped when she noticed summer staring at her. Hissing she dropped all the bags on the couch "take this things to my room and stop staring at me like a fool" she said

Silently without a word, she took the bags to Monica's room and went back to her room still thinking about what will become of her tomorrow, she dozed off to sleep.

The next morning, she got up early to do all the work rita has told her to do, when she was done she went to the kitchen to eat but was told there was nothing for her to eat, she went to the dining and saw the family of three eating and she swallowed, asking rita for her meal, but instead she got a glare from her "why should there be any food for you huh" she asked with eyes glaring at summer

Summer sealed her lips tightly, seems like she was going to starve today, she moved towards the door to go out.

"Where's the stuff I asked you to pack yesterday" Mr Hart asked her

"They are upstairs" she replied

"Go get them, take them to school and meet me by 2pm by the school gate" he said

"Take my luggage to school" she was bewildered by that statement, what would everyone do when they saw her dragging a suitcase in the school. She wondered!
