Chapter 18: SerenityAfter breakfast, I get implanted with the HEO tracking device I was too afraid to get before. It’s inserted in my calf by a needle and only leaves a small scar behind on my skin. I can’t help but scratch it as I sit outside under a tree full of the bright green leaves of spring with Trace, Dawn, and Mal. Trace and I are going over our instructions. Mal is playing Mangle Finger songs and updating her program to break into government military systems, and Dawn is talking to Adam on video chat. Everything is chaotic and wonderful. Dawn, Mal, and I all sit too close together.
We’re not saying anything about it, but our projects are making us nervous, especially my mission.
“Well, I think I’m going to go to the mess hall and then get some rest before we have to meet Sol,”
