CHAPTER 2

PREVIOUSLY ON KISMET

"You're too weak to attack me..."the leader spoke up walking towards me with an evil grin plastered on his face..

"I am but you're a coward to kill me without a fair fight..."

"You're as good as dead.."he stated and I coughed out blood...

"I've always been a dead man way before I was conceived..."I said coughing out thick black blood..

He charged at me, and I swing my sword ready to defend myself but my body froze and his sword slashed my stomach...

I collapse onto the water...

I coughed out blood again as I drowned deeper inside the river..

Death is peaceful...

TIGARD'S POV

I should have followed Kira..

"You know the princess is a very stubborn lady.. She just wanted to escape from the dance"Nina spoke up and I sighed..

Kira isn't scared of dancing..

She's scared of her own rage..

"She wanted some time alone.. She's still mad at the queen.."

"It's obvious... I wonder when the crisis between them will be resolved.. They both have different views of things.."she muttered

"All this wouldn't have happened if mom believed and trusted Kira 10years ago..

But look where that has brought them to..

For 10 whole years, mother and daughter can't stand to face each other.."I paused inhaling a deep breath..

"Elders are not always right but mom refused to accept and admit her mistake.."

"Then bring them together.."Nina suggested and I scoffed..

"It went in vain every time I tried that.. But i won't give up..

Kira doesn't have much time to live, she deserves mom's love and affection..

My only desire is to make my sister the most happiest person on Earth.."

"You'll make a good king."

"No... I'm never going to change from a Knight to a king.. Ziza will make a great king.."

I halted.

"I need you to hide three jars of kinsel in my sister's Chambers"

"My prince..."She grumbled..

"It's an order now.."

"The queen will slite my throat and offer me to the wild animals of the thick Forest to feast on.."

"I won't let that happen.. No one will know you hid it there, trust me..."

"Okay"She muttered defeately and I walked away..

As I sat down on my chair, Coco graced me with his presence..

"Salaam.."He spoke up..

"Salaam, have a seat.."I pointed to my sister's empty seat..

His gaze flittered around the crowd...

"She's not here.."I said

"Ooooh!! I wanted to talk to her"

"I know... I talked to her on your behalf... She explained vividly why it's best for you to mate with someone else..."

"She doesn't want me to suffer after she dies, isn't it..??"he asked..

"Yeah!! I reasoned with her too... I support her decision Coco"

"I still want to mate with only her.. I love her, fated to die or not.. I will only mate with her.."he stood up.

"Excuse me.. Salaam..."

"Salaam..."I replied baffled by his vow..

Coco is definitely the best man for my sister...

I just have to convince her..

Suddenly I felt a strange breeze, lightening stroke thrice..

The whole crowd became quiet.

The seer screamed...

And I rushed up to her...

Something is wrong...

"The sword dance..."She muttered, reading her beads..

She stare up at the sky, before looking at the high priestess...

The seer's eyes darkened while the high priestess eyes began to glow white...

Both of them held each other hands muttering quiet Incantations...

"Blood in the river..."They muttered..

"Ooh no!! Kira..."I shouted...

They stopped their Incantations..

"She was attacked at the river bank... Her spirit is leaving her body... We can't feel her soul either..."the seer explained..

"Bring me my horse..."I shouted..

I rushed back to my seat to grab my sword..

Coco brought two horses..

"I'm coming with you.."he announced..

"You're not going alone.. I've ordered ten knights to accompany you.."

I can't wait for them to get ready..

"We'll be on our way father, send them to meet us..."I said before mounting on my horse

I climbed down from my horse..

The river seems peaceful..

Coco and I rushed to the royals bank of the river..

We saw my sister's sword and tattered clothes on a log of wood..

"Look over there..."Coco shouted..

Blood in the river...

"she's inside..."I shouted..

Just then the warriors arrived.

"Search the river carefully for her.."I ordered.

Before diving into the water after Coco had already jumped inside..

I swam carefully searching for my sister..

I wonder how it's even possible for anyone to defeat her..

But I pushed that thought aside.

"I've found her..."Hale shouted...

Coco rushed to assist him as they swam out with her...

I trailed closely behind them..

Coco pulled his shirt as he wore it on her to cover her transparent soaked undergarment..

"Her blood is black.."Coco spoke up..

I rolled up his shirt to inspect the wound myself.

"It's poisoned.."I muttered..

I grab her tattered clothes, I tore her shirt into small pieces..

I tied it around her neck, hands, waist and legs..

"Why her neck..??"Coco asked

"I don't want the poison to flow to her head..."

"Go get your horse, I'll bring her to you..."Coco said and I rushed to climbed unto my horse..

Coco and two other warriors lifted her up and I lied her down on my horse...

"Thank you.."I said before stamping my feet on my horse and she began to run...

Yeah... My horse is a female...

Her name is Tika..

She ran faster even though the weight has increased, her pace fastened..

"They're here..."Mom shouted as Tika halted...

Dad and Ziza carried Kira down from the horse and I jumped down..

"Salaam.."The healer greated..

Dad and Ziza laid Kira on the mat..

"Shred off her garment and cover her with the sheet.."The healer ordered her servant...

"Please save my daughter..."Dad requested..

"Yassuh (yes), your majesty.. please tell everyone to step out.."

"Does she have life in her..??"I asked..

"I can't feel any...."She replied...

With a heavy heart i stepped outside..

KIRA'S POV

Where am I...???

This place looks extremely beautiful..

It doesn't look like my land..

Did they capture me..??

Wait!!!

How can I be alive and free..??

I was drowning in the river..

"Welcome my princess.."A strange man walked towards me with a lovely smile plastered on his face...

"Ooooh!!! I understand vividly your confusion... Keep calm, you're far from home..."

"Who are you..??"I asked curiously...

"Let just say, I'm someone important to you...

The queen awaited your arrival, the council request your presence.."He said wrapping his hand around my waist..

"I don't want to see my mother.. And what is my mother doing here at a strange land..."I asked suspiciously..

"Ooooh!! Pardon me.. Not the queen you know as your mother.. You're in Elysium (paradise)..

The realm of the gods, protector of the universe. And this place is called Mount Olympus .."

"And you are...???"I asked..

"Roy... Known to the mortals as the realm king..."he said and I gasped...

"Am I finally dead..??"I asked with a smile on my face..

"Not entirely, that depends on you..."He replied..

"This way..."He guided me into a dark cave but as we walked deeper inside a bright light shine ahead of us..

"We're here..."He whispered..

This place looks magnificent..

"A little word of advice, don't think to much here and don't let your emotions get the best of you.."

"She's here..."He announced before leaving me alone..

I was standing in the council of the gods...

My gaze flittered from each one of them, until I caught a glimpse of Roy's hard glare and I remembered his warning..

"Salaam.."I greeted..

"Salaam.."The oldest man responded with a smirk on his face..

"I'm Adolphus.. King of Kings and Lord of Lords.. I'm the Alpha..."He introduced himself..

I was about to introduce myself when he spoke up..

"I know who you are better than you do, princess.."

He's reading my thoughts..

"You're smart.."

"Well, I don't like it when people invade my privacy.."I spoke up keeping a blank mind..

I wonder how I learnt that..

"She's feisty.."a lovely voice spoke up..

"I'm more than that.."I replied..

"Introduce yourself.."Adolphus spoke up and a name tag appeared before all of them..

Their names and their title appeared..

So Zakaria was the one who called me feisty..

Queen of love..

"If you all done accessing me, can you explain why I'm being summoned here..

Or is it a test to know if I'm qualified to be in paradise or not..??"I asked irritated by their stares..

My gaze landed on the goddess herself..

Why do I feel a connection between us..??

"She has a temper and no patience at all..??"Lord Karen said staring at the goddess..

"Kira, What do you think about the Earth you came from..??"Adolphus asked..

"It's a beautiful place for mortals.. But I don't wish to return back there..."I answered..

"You can come with me.. I need a queen.."Lad, Lord of the sky.

"Thanks for the offer but no.."I replied and he scoffed..

"Please, stop flirting with her.."Nellie, The goddess of life and mortals spoke up...

The same goddess who cursed me to die before I was born...

"If I may ask one last question, Why do you love death..??"Adolphus asked..

"Because life rejected me..."I replied glaring angrily at the goddess..

"I'll send my decision to you later after my observations... You may all leave..."Adolphus said and he disappeared..

"I'm at your service, anytime, any day, anywhere.... just mutter my name thrice and I'll be there.."a voice I recognize to be lad (Lord of the sky) whispered in my ear...

I turned around but saw no one around me..

But strangely, I can feel his presence..

"I humbly request you leave her alone while she's here.."Roy spoke up..

That's when Lad, appeared in his mortal form..

He was standing behind me...

Damn these gods and their powers...

Lad chuckled as he wrapped his hands around me..

His warmth is comforting...

"My touch is no poison to her... Rather, a source of comfort, my dear old acquaintance.."Lad said which such a calm but intimidating voice..

"Very well then.. But, may I remind you that Goddess Nellie will slite your hand if she sees you with her... She's mortal and injured..."Roy said..

"Goddess Nellie is too busy to notice.. And also my presence is comforting her, I sense no fear in her..."

"That's enough.... I'm right here... At least, ask me what I want..

I'm exhausted, I want to sleep.."

"Sleep..??"Lad questioned but his voice sounded off..

"You can't sleep in the next six hours.. it's quite dangerous in your condition.. You must stay awake"Roy explained..

"I hate to do this, but king Roy is right.."

"Come with me dear, there's something you need to know.."Roy sounded serious..

"I hope to see you soon.."Lad said before he pecked my forehead and disappeared into thin air..

I walked beside Roy as he lead me inside a glass mansion..

"Welcome child.."Nellie spoke up as she appeared behind me.

All the anger in me ignite, at the site of her..

"I understand your anger toward me, all you know is the half-truth, but give me a chance to explain better..."

"Ooh really..?? How can you be so cruel to determine my end.. How can you curse whom the gods favoured..??

Why should I pay for a sin I did not commit..??

Why do you hate me so much..??"I shouted..

"How can a mother hate her only child..??

What you know is what the gods want the mortals to know..

There's alot you need to understand.."She sounded calm but there was alot of emotions in her voice, pain, anger and irritation...

"What are you talking about..??"

"I'm your mother.. I can never lay a curse on you..."

That can't be true..

"She's telling the truth.. And I'm your uncle.."

"Who's my father...??"

"Nekal, Lord of sea and water..."Nellie replied..

"Why didn't I see him today..??"

"Because, he angered the Alpha.. He wanted to rescue against the Alpha's order..."

"How can I see him..??"

"Whenever you look into the water, he's there.. use your innermost mind to see him.."

"Why then was I cursed to die...??"I asked curiously..

"That's what the human believed.. In this realm, your death symbolizes your return as immortal..

Because of your powers..

The body you are using belong to someone in the future..

And if you live longer on Earth, it could endanger the future of that body..

You were sent to earth, to save them and sustain my praises.."

"Can I see the real me..??"

"Let her see what she really look like, just once.."Roy muttered..

"Very well then.."A light flashed in the glass before me...

When the bright light faded off, I saw someone more beautiful..

Her skin glitter like the rest of the gods..

Her hair was ocean blue with brown eyes..

She resembled Goddess Nellie but the only difference is the colour of her hair...

The goddess hair was golden..

That girl was me...

"I look extremely beautiful..."

"What kind of powers do I have..??"I asked...

"Alot.. You have your father's gift and my gift too.. That's all you need to know...

When you get back, we'll train you to know your limits..

You have hidden gift that no one knows about..."

"How do you know about it..??"

"The Alpha confirmed it.. Do you ever wondered why it was so easy to keep your mind blank even though you were thinking.."

"No..."I stuttered..

"That's part of your gift... You're a witch... You can control things with your mind.. by the time you get back from your mission, you'll master all your hidden powers.."

"Can I use them as a mortal..??"

"You can but as human you are to have only one ability... What would you like your mortal powers to be..??"

"I want to be a witch.. I want to know how to control things with my mind.. I want to be able to cast spell... Set things ablaze and also quench flames.."

"Consider it done... My sister will give you the book of spell.. But you have to study as many as you can within the next few hours.."

"That will prevent me from sleeping.. "I muttered..

"She's a brave girl.."Roy complimented me..

"Study the Important spell you may need for the task .. I have one very important question for you."

"I'm all ears.."

"Will you go back or stay here...??"

"I'm going back... I'm going back to save my land like a true princess would.."I stated confidently..

"Your request has been granted, Kira... You have five hours left to return before I change my mind..."Alpha Adolphus' voice rang in the air loudly...

"Five hours is too small for her to fulfil her task here... She needs to learn so many things to be able to fulfil the task ahead of her..."Nellie shouted..

"I can't eat my word... Five hours to return to the human world, there'll be a direct consequences If you don't return on time..."Adolphus stated..

"Five hours is enough for me, old Man..."I shouted as his presence faded off....

Did I just call the king of Kings, an old man...???
