“Come on, Tolu,” he muttered to himself, focusing on the sound of Aisha’s cries. He could hear her pleading with them, begging them to let him go. The sound fueled his determination.
Just as the men were about to close the van doors, Tolu managed to wriggle his wrists enough to loosen the ropes binding his hands. He felt a rush of hope as he quickly pulled his hands free, but he knew he had to act fast. The sirens were getting closer, and he could hear the faint shouts of police officers outside.
Hello boy, "What are you doing".?one of the armed men shouted, turning back just in time to see Tolu break free. Tolu seized the moment, lunging forward and tackling the man to the ground. The two struggled, but Tolu’s adrenaline gave him the upper hand. He managed to wrestle the man’s weapon away, pointing it at the others.
“Let her go!” Tolu shouted, his voice steady despite the surrounding chaos. The remaining armed men froze, their eyes wide with shock.
“Drop the gun, or I swear I’ll shoot!” Tolu warned, glancing over at Aisha, who was still tied up in the van. She looked terrified, but there was a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
“Don’t do anything stupid, kid!” the leader shouted, trying to regain control of the situation. “You’re outnumbered!”
“Maybe, but I have the gun,” Tolu replied, his finger hovering over the trigger. “Let her go, and I won’t use it.”
The men exchanged nervous glances, weighing their options. Just then, the sound of police vehicles screeching to a halt outside filled the air. The armed men knew they had to act quickly.
“Get in the van!” the leader barked, and the men scrambled to comply. Tolu’s heart sank as he realized they were going to escape with Aisha still in their clutches.
“No!” Tolu shouted, but it was too late. The men jumped into the van, and the leader slammed the door shut. Tolu rushed forward, but the van’s engine roared to life, and the vehicle began to pull away.
Stop! "You can’t take her". Tolu yelled, but the van sped off, tires screeching against the pavement. He watched helplessly as they disappeared into the night, Aisha’s terrified face the last thing he saw.
The police arrived moments later, officers pouring out of their vehicles with weapons drawn. Tolu raised his hands, still holding the gun, and shouted, “They took her! They have Aisha!”
“Drop the weapon!” one of the officers commanded, but Tolu shook his head, his heart racing. “I can help! They’re getting away!”
“Put the gun down, now!” another officer shouted, but Tolu could see the urgency in their eyes. They needed to act fast.
With a deep breath, Tolu reluctantly dropped the weapon, knowing he had to cooperate if he wanted to help Aisha. The officers quickly moved in, securing him and asking questions about what had happened.
They had a bomb on me. "They’re armed and dangerous". Tolu explained, his voice frantic. “We have to find her!”
The officers exchanged glances, and one of them quickly radioed for backup. “We need a description of the vehicle and a pursuit team. They’ve got a hostage!”
As Tolu relayed the details of the van, he felt a mix of fear and determination. He couldn’t let Aisha down. The police were mobilizing, but he knew they had to act fast before the armed men could put more distance between them.
“Let’s go!” one of the officers shouted, and they jumped into their vehicles, sirens blaring as they sped off in pursuit of the van.
Tolu’s heart raced as he watched them go, praying they would catch up in time. He couldn’t shake the image of Aisha’s frightened face from his mind. He had to believe they would find her before it was too late.
Meanwhile, in the van, the armed men were frantically discussing their next move. “We need to ditch this vehicle and find a new plan,” the leader said, glancing nervously in the review mirror. “They’ll be on our tail any second.”
“Where do we go?” one of the men asked, panic creeping into his voice.
“Just drive! "We’ll" figure it out on the way,” the leader snapped, gripping the steering wheel tightly as they sped down the darkened streets, Aisha still bound and terrified in the back.
As the police closed in, Tolu’s hope surged. He knew they were doing everything they could to find Aisha, and he wouldn’t stop fighting until she was safe.
As the van careened through the city streets, the leader of the armed men, a rugged man named Malik, pulled out his phone. He glanced at Aisha, who was still tied up in the back, her eyes wide with fear. He knew he had to buy time, and the best way to do that was to manipulate the situation. He dialed Tolu’s number, a smirk creeping onto his face as he waited for the call to connect.
Tolu was pacing anxiously outside the police station, his heart pounding in his chest. He had just finished giving the officers a detailed description of the van when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, glancing at the caller ID. It was an unknown number, but something compelled him to answer.
“Hello?” Tolu said, his voice shaky.
“Tolu,” Malik’s voice came through, smooth and taunting. “I see you’re quite the hero now, but I think you should listen to what I have to say.”
Tolu’s heart sank. “What do you want?”
“I want to talk about your father,” Malik said, his tone dripping with malice. You see, he took something very important from us a long time ago. Something that belongs to us, and we want it back.
“What are you talking about?” Tolu demanded, his mind racing. He had no idea what Malik was referring to, but he could feel the tension in the air.
“Your father was involved in something much bigger than you know,” Malik continued, his voice low and conspiratorial. He stole from us, and now we’re going to make him pay. But first, we need to make sure you understand the stakes.
