Chapter 7 - The Obstacle

Then Ipkis drove back home and attempted to go through the book. The only words which were in the English language were the instructions at the beginning stating that one needs a clairvoyant to understand the book, then he decided to drive down to meet Joana, so they could decipher the book together, he sure didn’t know how to access the information without one, since Doctor Hopkins was not available to help out, There was only but one option and that was Joana.

Ipkis arrived and entered the house, and Joana met him quickly to hug him, as she hugged passionately,

Ipkis said; (Ipkis) “what’s up with the tight and passionate hug? Is everything okay?

(Joana) “I sure probably did miss you, you know, I was just here alone and didn’t go anywhere and didn’t know what to do. It was tasking, like I was locked up in prison, I honestly need to get a life you know. I am getting tired of staying indoors like some hidden idol or fugitive.

(Ipkis) Still holding onto her, said “I understand how you feel and I have tried as much I can to put myself in your show. It must be traumatizing, considering your antecedence. I sure know your life is in danger. I was in a place, where werewolves were planning to kill you. A strong cold ran through me, from my head to my feet. I know exactly, that this is the safest place you need to be right now. No one will suspect a thing.

(Joana) “But I need to get to know a few places you know, so I can at least leave normal a bit, or do you think that I will be safer in another city, don’t you think I need to go to another city, far away from here? Maybe I will be safer, you could help smuggle me through from here, to a different town or city. I feel like I am a burden to you and Doctor Hopkins already.

(Ipkis) Then holds her tightly and said “Oh come off that! That is not the issue right now, you heard Doctor Hopkins right, I want to keep you safe, you got that and for the records, I miss you too, especially the mysteries we are unraveling about you by the day”.

(Joana) Then giggles a bit and breaks herself loose from his grip, saying “I am not finding it funny you know!”.

(Ipkis) “I was just joking after all, don’t take it seriously okay? That reminds me, look what I got! Then he brings out the book from his cross bag with him.

(Joana) “What is that? Where did you get that from? I thought you don’t love reading books, I assumed so, because I didn’t see any library or collections here. What book is that? as she attemts to pull it out the bag to take a look.

(Ipkis) “Wow, wow- wow! Take it slowly, one at a time, come on, it's just a book, moreover, I got it from Doctor Hopkins, it’s a book of prophecy on Werewolves, I needed answers and I feel we could get some answers about you from here you know. We won’t be left in the dark just like that and he says that only a pure-hearted person can access the book's information but I need a clairvoyant. I don’t get it, I don’t know where we need to start, I just saw that the instructions were partly in English, but the rest of it seems to be in an ancient language, I am not sure it is Earth’s language. I wonder how they got this book originally.

(Joana) “Hmmm I see! Let me see that, maybe I could see if we can get anything”, then she opened the book flipped through the pages, and said; “ I don’t see any text here, it’s a blank page”.

(Ipkis), “I can see texts written all over it, just that it is not in English, why is it blank to you? Oh, it sure is a mystical book. Let me call Doctor Hopkins, maybe he can guide us a bit, so we get started”.

(Joana) “That is fine” Then Ipkis calls Doctor Hopkins and he picks up the call saying;

(Doctor Hopkins) “Hello Ipkis, how are you doing? How is the clairvoyant, sure she is safe?”

(Ipkis) “Yes she is fine, I am at her place and we are stranded, the book is blank to her, she sees nothing but blank pages, but I see write-ups, in languages I can’t understand, something like “ushafastrendit skhutakrat”, sounds ancient, no connection to humanity or any language on earth, which I can point it to”

(Doctor Hopkins) “Sorry, I didn’t explain to you, you would have to be in love with the clairvoyant and her too in love with you, until that time, you both cannot read from the book, only then would you know what to do about the book and the prophecies written inside of it, sorry I can’t stay on the call with you, I have got to quickly see some patient on the appointment, I have got to go, talk to you soon”.

Then Joana and Ipkis had flashbacks at the same time, while they spoke co-incidentally at the same time saying; “Don’t tell me…”, (Ipkis) “Hope it’s not what I am thinking that you are too?

(Joana) “What are you thinking? Because I just remembered my Visions when we first got here, hope this has nothing to do with any of it?”

(Ipkis) “Ughh! Well, I don’t know, but I remember Doctor Hopkins said a few things here the other day, and I think we need to know where to connect all the dots, all these need to be clear right now. So they kept wondering what to do and how to go about it, and then Joana said;

(Joana) “I am famished, I need to eat, can we go get food please?” then Ipkis responds “No, I have to go get it for you, what would you like to eat?”.

(Joana) “I think I need to get there first to see what I can eat, I don’t know what I would like to it”. They had a few back-and-forths on the issue, and then Ipkis agreed to her request.

(Ipkis) “It's fine, I will take you there, but on the condition that I take you to the restaurant, while you remain in the car, waiting for me. I cannot risk you being identified or smelled from afar by any werewolf, their network might have become stranger.

(Joana) “Why did you say so? Strong network? How do you mean?”

(Ipkis), ‘I cannot answer that now, but we have to tread with caution okay, you must not be discovered. Go on to the other room, I have some clothes there you could disguise with. Perhaps you can use them sometimes too. You can take something black”.

(Joana) “Yeah sure, thanks a lot. I am excited about this, at least I get to see the city and some beautiful things around, it will be a chance to breathe fresh air and access some freedom again.

(Ipkis) “Please don’t get down from the car, once I park at the lot, please. I hope you can do that?”.
