Joana kept walking through the forest gradually, not knowing where she was headed, as the rain began to trickle gradually, while she staggered through the bush path sobbing from the pains of her discovery until she stumbled on some piece of grass, which tripped her legs and she fell. She lay right where she fell, facing down while she cried for a while, and then she used both hands to pull on the loamy soil, after crying for a while she got up from the ground to proceed with her journey.
She kept walking with nowhere in mind, while all she could hear was the sounds of birds chirping and squirrels jumping from tree to tree. She just walked, as long as it would lead her away from the scene of all these, to help her forget and start over again. She just hoped that she would probably encounter some farmers or some new community on her way as she walked. Her only companion was the sounds from animals and the songs she remembered, her father was a good singer and she remembered the songs which he mostly sang. She walked and sang a particular song which was her favorite song and such calmness returned to her, whilst she walked through the forest all day long.
Then it was night and she set a place to sleep, laying up grasses, to find some comfort, then managed to make fire out of wood, to give her some warmth and light for the night. Her appetite for food was completely seized, she didn’t have an appetite for flesh or blood like Ekroff did, perhaps because of the unknown boundaries her change required her to maintain for a thousand years. Joana was metamorphosing from an ordinary human, into a full-blown werewolf, but it would take her a thousand years, she didn’t realize that she would become ageless like some vampires.
Certain abilities will begin to spring forth and as time passes by, she will notice certain traits about her come up. While she slept at night, a dangerous viper came to bite her in her sleep. This time, her sleeping method had changed from sleeping ordinarily, into sleeping with heightened senses. She could tell that something was close as she whispered in her heart; “What is coming close to me? I hope I am not dreaming or hallucinating.”… As she spoke to herself while asleep, it felt like she was awake, but heard a louder version of herself speaking.
She was too tired to get up and was lazy about it since she made a soft place to sleep which also gave her some comfort. Suddenly, she got a bite on her legs, it felt like she was being injected so deeply and she screamed out of her sleep, only waking up to see a viper running from her. She then took a look at her legs, she was in sharp pain and then she suddenly felt numb from her waist down to her feet and then began to shiver from the sting. She managed to say a few words; “Oh my Goodness” whilst she shivered and her eyes turned blue. Then she collapsed.
In her subconscious, it felt like she was in an open white borderless space like the clouds, it was indescribable. After a while, she blanked out without knowing where she was, what happened, or a sign of life in her. Her only last words were; “what is happening to me? Am I going to die?” she knew that snakes like that were dangerous, being a farmer’s daughter, having gone to the farm a lot with her father.
Suddenly Joana is lifeless, she passes on! Her body became white and looked dried, but after a while, the venom in her began to gather up and started coming out from the place she was bitten. She began to get reformed as she began to experience a reverse process or sort of rebirth. As the venom sipped out of her, the place she was bitten all closed up and she suddenly jerked back to life. By the time this happened, it was already daylight.
She woke up very refreshed and strong, but as she dusted the leaf off her body, she suddenly remembered that she had been bitten by a snake and was dying. Then she checked the place, she could see the scars and right before her eyes, it covered up.
(Joana) “Oh my God, what is happening to me? I thought I was going crazy, so truly I was stung by a viper, how come it’s healed overnight, and come to think of it, I just saw flesh cover my skin”. She began to speak with herself, with no answers coming forth, but instead leaving more and more puzzles for her to solve. Then she continued her journey, it wasn’t the issue of what had happened previously, she was only concerned with knowing why she had possibly died and here she was like nothing happened.
Then she had walked far away, but this time, the ability to do with speed was not in play, because she spent most of the time querying the past occurrences. She suddenly bumped into a major road, leading to probably somewhere, but could not tell where, as cars were zooming through, whilst some of them just looked at her as they drove through.
Suddenly a car parked off the road and someone began to walk towards her, who suddenly attacked her. It was an Agelon, one of Ekroff's turned werewolf. Evra had configured it in the gene of Agelons to attack other werewolves and they are tasked with terminating Joana, who they have been told from prophecy, to be a superior werewolf. They knew she might be Luna someday, but the prophecy didn’t reveal the Alpha to them.
While the Agelon attacked her, she attempted to evade the attacks as much as she could, it was a huge surprise to her. She felt the danger of being under attack once more, just less than 24 hours she was bitten by a snake. Then he hit her so hard, that she fell to the ground and he then stayed over her stomach on the floor with his two hands on her neck to choke the life out of her. She could see that he was not a human at all, but could not tell what he was, for his eyes were red. As she tried to remove his hands from her neck, with failed attempts, then she began to search around the ground for anything close by she could use.
She was already passing out, with the sounds of vehicles distinct to her ears. No one was willing to stop to help. People who passed probably knew that it was an Agelon in battle and they were sore afraid of them, because he had turned halfway to a werewolf and the area was their territory. Then she finds a medium sized piece of rock beside them on the ground and manages to pick it up, then hits the werewolf on her with all the strength which she could muscle up. Right at the instant she did this, a vehicle had pulled over, after seeing her struggling underneath what looked like a man, violently trying to kill a woman.
The stone hit him so hard that it cracked his head and fell off her weak and panting with struggling breaths. Then the man who pulled over helped her up, and quickly took her to his car, as she struggled to walk without much strength. Then they drove off.
