Living with new friends

1049 Words
While Victor and Grandma Lala are back to normal, Victor was still holding back his joy. Victor is now living with a new friend, Cherophobia. Although he didn't know he had it because of his innocence. At first he was having a hard time controling his emotions, but as time passed, he got used to it. His Grandma noticed that the Victor who was always blissful had faded into an always emotionless or sad Victor. She was disheartened to see Victor like this, it was as if Victor had no enjoyment at all! She thought that it was because of her actions, yet she tried to tell herself it was something else. She tried to lift Victor's spirits up but nothing seemed to work. She even gave Victor the freedom to do what he wanted, but Victor would always reply with a slight and faked smile. Grandma Lala spent countless nights pondering about Victor, and did everything she could, but in the end it was all for nought. She knew that one voice in the back of her head always whispered "It's your fault." And over time this voice seemed to get louder and louder. Even though Victor was controling his emotions, he manages to get his chores done on time and do things he'd normally do in the house. Time flew by and suddenly it was already time to go back to school. Victor wasn't excited, and Grandma Lala was hoping that Victor would be back to normal once he hits school. She thought that Victor was just getting bored or he was just going through puberty. In Victor's mind, one small mistake, and a bad thing would already happen. He was unconscious of the fact that what he was doing to himself was slowly eating his life up from the inside, and not only him, but his Grandma too. Victor was unable to see the bigger picture for he was so cooped up in darkness. Grandma Lala hoped that things would get better as time passes, but what happened was the complete opposite. From the Victor who'd still talk to Grandma Lala a lot of times, to the Victor who didn't want to talk. He grew worse and worse, up to the point he'd skip meals and lock himself up for days. All because he was afraid of happiness and what he thought came after it. He didn't know it was all in his mind, and he didn't know that talking to someone would help him, for what he did was to cut everything off. Victor was like this for a long time already. Days, weeks, months, and even a year passed by, but Victor didn't seem to get better. Grandma Lala was extremely bothered at this, for she was already getting too weak to work because she was getting old. Every day that passed, she was thinking of what will become of Victor when she's gone. She tried talking to Victor, but it seemed like Victor didn't want to open up. Victor trapped his emotions inside his heart, but deep inside, he knew he needed love. He wanted to break free from the chains of suffering but these chains held fast to him more every time he tried. Victor saw his life as an empty and dark tunnel, and he didn't see a light at the end. He felt like the fact of his existence was already a burden to him and to the people around him. He turned 13 still the same, but his grandma grew older and older each day that passed. Grandma Lala couldn't go to the market anymore, for she was waxing old. Victor got the job of going to the market, where he found a few interesting things, but none seemed to be the right thing to do. Life was getting harder each day for Victor and his Grandma, but Victor held on to life. He was struggling, yet he was determined to live. He didn't see the end of all this, so he thought that better things are up ahead. He thought that he didn't see the light of the tunnel, for that's how life is supposed to be. He also thought that after he sees that spark of life once again in him, he'd be fine, and as long as he didn't find that end, he won't give up. Grandma Lala on the other hand, was starting to give up. She thought that life was ending soon for her. She was at the age of 76 already and her body was getting weaker each day that passes. Victor always looks at her from a distance, and feels sorry for her. He tries to do his best with the house work, but of course, he didn't give what Grandma Lala needed to know, that he's back to being fine. Grandma Lala's wish was for Victor to be happy once again, even just before she dies. Grandma Lala could still walk, but not for long so she usually just sits in her rocking chair to watch the view of the ocean in their backyard. Victor was faithful in taking care of her, for he loved her very much. He didn't want Grandma Lala to vanish one day, and this thought crept into his mind every night, leading him to tears. It was already the end of school once again, and Victor, was a bit joyed at the fact he could take care of his Grandma more. He rushed home to his Grandma with excitement, but he then remembered the consequences of being happy so he was back to being gloomy. Summer arrived, the birds were chirping and the breeze was noticeably getting warmer. Both of them didn't seem to get any better, Victor was losing hope on his Grandma and the same goes around to Victor. Grandma Lala knew the end was near, but she didn't want to die. She wanted to live and be strong again, but the medicines were too expensive for them to buy. Victor wanted to apply for some summer jobs around town to help his Grandma, but he didn't have anyone to take care of his grandma while he was at work. So he stayed at home and spent a lot of time with His Grandma.
