Chapter3:Wedding Preparation

Agatha's Pov: For centuries, werewolves have ruled the world as kings, generals, wealthy merchants, and council elders. Among the most esteemed packs is the Respawn Pack, led by Alpha Genova, a lineage that has existed since the dawn of humanity. In their early existence, werewolves lived independently without rulers or settlements. The onset of conflict began when humans, fearful of being overthrown by werewolves, waged war against them. Ludwig Wilhelm Hawthorne rose to lead his fellow werewolves to victory. When it became clear that neither side would achieve absolute triumph, a truce was negotiated. Ludwig, desiring peace and reluctant to see his people die, accepted the truce, which initiated coexistence between humans and werewolves. Following the truce, Ludwig was granted a city to govern, which he named Pendragonia. However, greed arose among the werewolves who hated being ruled. To avoid further conflict, Ludwig introduced the Pack System. Twelve men were selected to lead twelve packs as Alphas, with the people choosing their leaders through combat. Ludwig had thirteen sons: Leopold, Augustus, Theodore, Caesar, Roosevelt, Clement, Ambrose, Edmund, Tyndall (Genova's father), Cassius, Gideon, Cyrus, and Theron. They all participated in the combat that determined the twelve Alphas. Among them, only Tyndall, along with eleven random werewolves, emerged victorious. Thus, the first twelve packs of the Werewolf Clan were established: The Respawn Pack led by Alpha Tyndall Hawthorne, the SilverMist Pack led by Alpha Julian Edelman, the Blackthorn Pack led by Alpha Reginald Hastings, the Nightshade Clan led by Alpha Dorian Harrington, the Moonshadow Pack led by Alpha Leander Wellington, the Ironclaw Pack led by Alpha Grey Pembroke, the Silver Crescent Pack led by Alpha Helios Haverhill, the Darkwood Pack led by Alpha Kingsley Fitzgerald, the Wraithfang Pack led by Alpha Antonius Montgomery, the Ravenheart Pack led by Alpha Cassius Wainwright, the Grimhowl Pack led by Alpha Ashford Cavendish, and the Stormfang Pack led by Alpha Jonathan Langley. So why would Noah a Jewish Fanatic, suddenly close a deal with a Werewolf? None of this made sense. I sat on the edge of my bed, tears streaming down my eyes. On one end was Elliott and on the other end was my whole life. I couldn't believe that a mother would actually let such a thing happen to her children. I was so lost in my thoughts that I failed to notice when Caroline stepped into the room. Caroline Pennington, my step sister, she is a young and impudent girl. I deem her young regardless of our similarities in age, because she is oftentimes foolish. “You should do as he said, he doesn't seem to be joking about this.” She advised, as she made herself comfortable on the bed. “Something is going on right? There is no way Noah would want to let me wed a wealthy man instead of you.” I asked, staring at her deeply. “Well father did mention him proposing marriage to Hughelyn Hawthorne but it got declined. I guess they proposed that I wed Alpha Genova and father wasn't having it. Or maybe you are being traded for a huge amount of money, we can never be too sure.” “You speak nonsense, Caroline.” I said dismissively. I watched as she stomped out of the room, obviously annoyed at my words. Honestly, I couldn't deny the truth in her words. Maybe Noah traded me for a huge amount of money, but why to Genova and not to Tyndall. What crime did I commit? I only wanted to fulfill my father's wishes. It had been my father’s dream for one of his sons to attend a medical academy. Not being a son, he had enrolled me in a sewing school before his death. To honor his wish, I had Elliott enrolled in Mr. Winthrop’s medical academy. Although the academy was not the finest in Guildford, it wasn't exactly the worst. I suddenly recalled the first day I brought Elliott to the Academy. Unlike the other children, who wept and clung to their mothers, Elliott stood bravely. He looked me straight in the eyes and declared. “I shall become a great doctor, earn a fortune, and then marry you, rescuing you from our mother's husband.” At that time, his words amused me. He, a boy, desiring to marry his own sister. But now, I found myself yearning for my little savior. << A week had gone past since Elliott went missing or rather since Noah abducted him. And I had finally relented, the endless work for my wedding to Alpha Genova in a few days time had already begun. Mother and I left for the jeweler’s shop, where we purchased a necklace, earrings, and a headpiece for the forthcoming wedding. She also purchased a few simple neck pieces, suitable to be worn after the wedding festivities had passed. I had never owned a decent or proper dress, as all my garments were mere hand-me-downs from Caroline. Thus, we made our way to the seamstress, where my measurements were taken for a wedding gown. Meanwhile, Mother selected a lot of gowns fit for daily wear after the ceremony. Once these matters were attended to, we returned home. I made my way to the kitchen after dropping all we had purchased in my room. With an apron tied around my waist, I started to prepare the evening meal. It took great effort not to break down, for it was Elliott alone who sustained me until this day. Even after our father passed, it was for his sake that I toiled in the fields of Blackmane, to purchase the medicines our mother required. Following his birth, I labored at two employments to provide for him, until Noah Pennington entered our lives. When Elliott reached an age of learning, I made sure that he was enrolled in a medical academy. My days were spent assisting a merchant in the Town’s Square, and upon my return, I worked as a maid for the Penningtons all to afford his schooling. And now, I have decided to cast aside my own happiness and wed a man I have neither seen nor know, all to ensure Elliott’s safety. He has always been the light of my life and shall remain so.
