“For real?” asked Jarrod.
“We’re at Newcastle Airport now,” said Marianne excitedly.
Jarrod and Marianne had discussed making the trip to Australia together, but the timing wasn’t ideal with the kids just back at school and with Jarrod effectively in camp. Marianne though had done all the spade work and had organised the most direct flight from Newcastle to Melbourne via Dubai. It should have been no surprise. She had often done things on a whim and following her recent brush with cancer she had a newfound zest for brand-new experiences. This was quite an undertaking though and she would have been planning it way before Jarrod had left.
