SconesJarrod felt weird going to the school drop-off with no kids in tow. He parked up away from the school and walked the few hundred metres to the school gate. Pippa was there when he turned the corner, peering through the railings. She had just dropped her girls and was waiting for the moment where one of them had forgotten something. Pippa turned and smiled as Jarrod walked up. Jarrod noticed her eyes and could tell that she had mascara on, something he had never noticed in the past. She reached in for a kiss on the cheek, something they had never done either. This was maybe crossing the line from being school friends to being genuine friends, and it seemed right.
