CoachJarrod glanced up; Des took that as an invitation to come and sit in the seat on the opposite side of the table. Jarrod smiled. He’d always enjoyed his coach’s company and warmed to him as soon as he met him last year at the trials. “J.B.,” said Des, using yet another nickname. “A quick word, if I may?” Des was now sitting opposite with his elbows on the table, his two hands clasped in front of him. It looked serious. The body language didn’t look entirely positive, and Jarrod thought back to the brief discussion he’d had with Pauline earlier on.
