A Horrific Love Story

A Horrific Love Story Katie Thrasher (former girlfriend): I first met him at the mall. I was seventeen and naive. My friend, Amanda and I were in line at the pretzel stand in the food court. I spotted him from across the mall, he looked dirty and mysterious. He wore a flannel shirt and ripped blue jeans. His teeth were black from the large blob of Copenhagen in his mouth. He saw me and smiled. He walked right up to me and said, "What's your name pretty thang?" Amanda acted like she threw up in her mouth. I smiled at her and replied, "Amanda Higgins." She looked angry and disgusted. He took my hand and kissed it leaving behind a black lip stain. Once he was gone Amanda let me have it for giving him her name instead of mine. I tried to wipe off the black lip stain on my hand but it wouldn't come off. "It's like the kiss of death," Amanda joked. A week later he called Amanda's house looking for me. I answered and agreed to see him later that week for a movie and dinner. We dated for a couple weeks, everyone hated it. Amanda, my parents, even my sister, Lisa. Everyone hated him, and that made me like him for some odd reason. He was appalling and charming at the same time. He was both cute and ugly like a stray, helpless dog that's been abused it's whole life. All he needed was someone to take care of him and love him. I thought that person could be me. One night we were out, his temper got the best of him. We were at a bar and another man hit on me. Murphy drug him outside and beat him until his face was covered in blood. Someone called the cops so I had to drive him home before he got arrested. We arrived at his house around eleven pm. His house was small with a chain link fence wrapped around his yard. "Beware of Dog" signs were scattered on it. I asked him what kind of dog he had. He replied, "I hate dogs, the signs are for scaring the neighbor's kids." "So you don't have a dog?" I asked. "No, sorry," he replied. Inside the house his things were very organized but the house itself looked run down. The boards in the floor creaked and the walls looked very old and worn out. "How long have you been in town?" I asked. "Since we met," he smiled. "I was just passing through but i found a good reason to stay." I blushed, then he kissed me. It was the softest and most disgusting kiss I have ever enjoyed. That night we had s*x for the first time and i felt safe sleeping in his arms. Lisa Thrasher (former friend by association): My sister was crazy about him and my family and I didn't know what to do. Our father told him to leave her be, Murphy told him if he tried to stop them from being together he would kill him. My stupid baby sister did nothing. She believed his lies and she trusted him. They planned to run away together and Murphy was going to go back to school and become a doctor. That was a good laugh. He was the definition of in-bred moron. He claimed he had went to college in the United States a few years back. Murphy Mark was nothing but a liar hiding a monster. Trey Higgins (former friend by association): Once Murphy and Katie had broken up he came looking for her. He knew her as Amanda Higgins, not Katie Thrasher. He came to our home late one night. He came in our bedroom and saw us in bed together. He attacked me and knocked me out with a baseball bat. When I woke up I was in the emergency room having my face prepped for reconstructive surgery. I faintly asked to see my wife but no one answered me. A week later when I could see and speak again I awoke to my brother B.J. He told me Amanda was murdered that night and the killer got away. Ronald Gray (enemy): Katie called me that night crying, "He killed her, he killer her Ron." To be honest I had hoped she meant Murphy, I hated him. I knew he was a bad seed right from the start. Katie and I are best friends so obviously she introduced me to every asshole she dated. Murphy was no exception, in fact he was the worst. He stared at other girls and told her what to do and what to wear. He tried to turn her into w*********h like him. No one could convince Katie to leave him, not until he went crazy and killed Amanda. Lisa Thrasher: Murphy was never caught. Katie and I believe he fled to the United States or maybe even Mexico. The police searched his house and found nothing that linked him to Amanda's murder. We're lucky Katie never trusted him enough to tell him her real name. Katie Thrasher: I always knew there was a darkness inside him. I was scared when I was with him but I liked it. It made me feel alive. He was spontaneous and I was used to the complete opposite. I guess in some ways opposites do attract, but I'm not sure its for the best. Mostly I was afraid if I told him my real name he would be mad at me for lying to him the whole time. Ronald Gray: Murphy changed Katie, he corrupted her. The Katie I knew and loved would never have done any of that s**t unless someone made her do it. She would never willingly hurt someone, no matter who they were and what they had done. She's the best person I know. She's the sun that shines through rainy clouds to brighten a person's day. Margaret Mallore (unknown): I didn't know Katie and Murphy very well. I went to school with Katie and I saw Murphy around all the hang outs usually with Katie and Amanda. He seemed harmless and completely into Katie, he did everything for her. A lot of girls in town were jealous. Even though he wasn't the best looking guy around he sure was the most respectful, at least that's the way it seemed. We all feel foolish now that we know the truth. Lisa Thrasher: Murphy was a master of manipulation and a creator of chaos. Everywhere he went and everyone he met seemed to be sucked into his black hole of a life. Once your inside, it crushes you until you can't breathe, then you die. The only way out is death. Diana Mark: When Murphy came home from school in the United States, he met a girl in the town north of us, Bridgetown. She was a nice young lady, very polite and full of smiles. She was so stunning I was happy for them both. Murphy was finally happy again and just when I started to lose hope. My boy was still young and it was hard when she broke his heart, he didn't handle it so well. Drew Grace (stranger): Ron has been in love with Katie since kindergarten. He used to sleep next to her during nap time and he gave her his animal crackers when we ate lunch. She was all he every wanted. Even after she broke his heart time and time again he kept on clinging onto her and the hope that someday they would be together. He couldn't accept the fact that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, some people just aren't meant to be. Ron is perfect for me, Katie was perfect for Ron, and Murphy was perfect for Katie. He showed her and the rest of us who she truly is and after all the things she did, Ron still loves her and now I have to accept he always will.
