Chapter69

DIVIDED FORCES Kiera's POV Six hundred miles. The number looped in my head like a death sentence. Six hundred miles of tundra, frozen and brutal, lay between me and my children, dying at this very moment. I felt Kai through our bond. His fear was something I could feel, a sharp, cold weight in my chest. Waves of shadow wolves attacking the city. Elder Thorne was wounded. Our people are falling back. My boy, using whatever vestiges of the old one’s power, he had to shield his baby sister. I started walking south. Just walking around, I couldn’t sit still. Couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. Rylan caught me walking up the third step. Hugged me from behind. "Kiera said," Stop." "Let me go," I said. My voice didn’t even sound like my own. "My children are dying. I have to get to them."
