He entered our gates looking jumpy, his eyes darting everywhere as if he expected to be arrested at any second. His horse was covered with sweat, panting; he could hardly stand. In the tight bit sticking out of his jaw he rode supremely, without pause. I was out on the training field with some of the younger wolves, going over defensive formations, when Ash finally found me. “There is a merchant at the gates,” he said. His expression was serious.
