Three days later, I sat in our ravaged command center and struggled to tally the losses. The numbers were brutal. Thirty alliance fighters died. Over 60 wounded, some who would not live. The settlement, however, was left damaged by the fighting. Homes were destroyed. Supplies depleted. Lives shattered.
The Eastern forces were broken. Alpha Dimitri had escaped with his main supporters, they’d gone into hiding in their mountain lands. Alpha Yuna was no more, slayed by the weapon she'd set free. Alpha Kendra had submitted with the rest of the Eastern wolves, over a hundred of them who were now all either manacled or refugees depending on your point of view.
