Chapter Eight Deidra, smoked a cigarette, got out of the car and sauntered in to find her father and Douglas in the study with an attorney. Deidra flicked the cigarette out the window into the yard. A servant caught it and put it out. Deidra sat on the couch and curiously eyed the attorney, who wore a black and vector tie. Edmund whispered to the attorney, then looked at his children. "As you both know, I will soon step down and hand the business over to Deidra," Edmund calmly said. Douglas fumed, "you can't just hand over all three business to Deidra!" Edmund glanced at his only son and sighed, “she is the eldest and the most responsible." A vein pulsated on Douglas’ neck from sheer aggravation, "bullshit!
