Seraphine’s POV They were looking at her differently. I noticed it before anyone said a word. Before the murmurs started shifting. Before the elders began adjusting their tone. It was subtle. But I saw it. The way their gazes followed her. Not with suspicion anymore. Not entirely. Something else had slipped in. Something far more dangerous.
