But because for the first time since I stepped into Ironfang territory. I wasn’t reacting. I was thinking. My gaze stayed on her. Steady and unmoving. Watching the way she held herself. Like she had already accepted something that should have broken her. My jaw tightened slightly. Because I had seen the same thing. I felt it. Not fragments. Not half-truths. The beginning. And it didn’t match what I had built my life around. The silence stretched. Not tense. Not hostile. Different. “Say it again.” Her brows pulled slightly. “What?” “That we’ve been lied to.” Her gaze didn’t waver. “We have.” I studied her for a second longer.
