Aiden flinched " Wait are you saying what I think your saying? "

" Yes I'll marry you." She whispered.

Wow he thought that they might be moving in that direction after there kiss last night, but he didn't think she would agree this quickly.As he walked closer to her she said. " Aiden, you where honest with me so I'm going to be honest with you. Your name will help protect us."

That stung a bit he stopped to look at her, but than I thought about how his proposal must have sound to her. He couldn't be mad. Especially since she said yes. That out weighted all else.

Wrapping his arms around her he kissed her she was trembling, but he didn't think it was from the kiss. Clearly she was still terrified.

Letting go he said " Would you like me to drive you to work? "

" Thanks, but I'll be alright. We do need to talk things over."

Aiden made a few phone calls and went to a few business for interviews. Later as he ate lunch he called, Brad.

" You mean she actually said yes."

" I was a little surprised. I thought that she'd come around, but not this soon."

" Not to be negative, but is something wrong?" Brad knew him to well so he must have heard it his voice.

He told Brad what he knew about the old boyfriend. It just seems like there is more to this. I have so many questions. "

" Right. "

" Brad I know it's been seven years so maybe I'm reading her wrong."

" I think it's understandable you have questions. "

" Not just about the boyfriend but the adpotion. "

" Quistions about the adpotion?"

" Ya like why would it be considered closed if his parents are dead. Why would the request it be closed from there family. "

"What she knows that there dead?"

" Ya a car accident. "

" I've never heard be closed like that but it's possible."

" You think it could be why she agreed to marry me."

" I don't see how it could be related and how it would be related and how does the ex fit in."

" Of course I'm being paranoid. "

His alarm went off. " I told Ben I would go watch his scrimmage since Jaz had to work. "

" Aha daddy, Aiden. " He did like the sound of that.

Jaz called Elain Tommy's mom and asked her to take Ben for the night. She also called, Aiden to let him know that she did so they could talk. Aiden walked in to the candle light. Smiling he said.

" What is this? I thought we where going to talk?"

" We are over a candle light dinner. I made you dinner. "

She layed out the shrimp salad and grilled steak. "

" What did I do to deserve this? "

" Just being you. Even though I hadn't said yes and I disappeared on you all those years ago you stood her ready to protect even if that meant fighting. "

Walking over to her he pulled her into his arms. " You mean so much to me and so does Ben no one will have hurt you." He kissed her.

" Let's sit down we have a lot to talk about."

" In a hurry to talk about wedding plans?"

" Are we going to move first?" She asked.

" Move?" Aiden said.

She sat down across from him. " To California. Your family's there."

" You have a job and Ben has school. I'm sure I can get a job here."

She didnt think that she would have to convince him. " I know that certain members of your family won't accept us but your father and others will. I think it would be good for Ben. His never know what it's like to have family except me."

" Dad and Catherine would spoil him. Daniel and kids would love him to. "

Why was she pushing so hard to move though. Was this ex really worrying her that much.

" If thats what you want." She got up and kissed his cheek. " I really do believe it's for the best."

For the next few days they took Ben to the amusement park the arcade and attended soccer and choir concerts of Ben's. They went on romantic dinners. Jaz posted pics online something she normally didnt do, but they thought it would provide evidence of there new relationship to his family it was all part of the plan.

Ben face was always blacked out or he was turned so his face wasn't shown. Jaz said he was two young to be put on socal media with all the predators out there.

Aiden understood her concern and agreed, but he couldn't help feel there was more to it.

On the fourth day his mom called again this time he answered.

" What do you think your doing?"

" Do you care to tell me what your talking about? "

" Where did you dig her up from."

" I didnt dig her up from anywhere. She is the stragicis assistant of Holland Corpation. When I came to tour for my new job we reconnected.

" And it cost you that job. At least she's done that right."

" First she had nothing to do with that. Second Mr. Coffe and I have worked things out and I will be working at Holland Corpation. "

" What? No. You cant work there and you can't move to Texas. Know break up with that woman. "

" No! You dont get to decide anything in my life." He hung up before she could say more.

A few minutes later his dad called. " Thanks for sending me pictures. The social media ones didn't really show much of, Ben.

It's good thing you told me that he was adopted. I would have thought he was yours."

" Nothing like that happened between us."

" Really thats not what you said seven years ago. "

" It's true. We came very close, but that is all very close but that is all very embarrassing story that will never be told."

" Well I'm your dad don't really need details." Aiden laughed.

" You look happier than I've seen you son, Don't wait to long this time."

" I won't thanks , dad."
