“I would never say that!” Elizabeth defended.
“But you did!”
“No! That cannot be!”
Elizabeth pushed him away and his towel fell to the floor, unraveling his huge member. The only thing she automatically did was widen her eyes and shout as if she just saw a terrifying ghost, or she saw her ex stalking her from afar. She ran away from the hotel with her bag.
No. That can’t be. That can’t be the handsome man who looked like he was bred by Aphrodite and Adonis. It… was too much for her. Elizabeth grew up not fond of reading romantic fairytales where her situation right now is similar --- waking up on an expensive mattress and finding her prince charming.
That was technically not her prince charming! And she is not the kind of woman who easily gives in to guys’ traps!
Was she so drunk that she did not even remember a single thing about what happened to her last night? Her body is sore, as well as the throb of her head. It must be because of a hangover, and also her private part that felt so obliterated and ripped.
“You b***h!”
Elizabeth gasped and immediately held herself by her hand on the doorknob. From the moment she entered their small modern house, her mother stood in the doorway and gave her cheek a hard slap. She turned to her mother who was furiously heaving her chest while looking at her.
“M-Mom,” she mumbled.
“Why are you so late? Why did you not go home yesterday?! Do you forget your responsibilities now?!” her mother reprimanded and yelled at her. “And you reek of alcohol! Where have you been, huh? Have you lost your mind?!”
Before she could even let her mother hit her again, she immediately dodged herself and ran away. Elizabeth cursed as she climbed up the stairs when she could feel the fork her stepsister had just thrown in her direction. Her mother repeatedly pattered crisp curses and almost heard its footsteps toward her. She closed the door of her room.
But Elizabeth has no time to fight back and explain herself to her harsh, abusive mother because she has a job interview.
“b***h, you better come out here or you will get yourself into trouble,” she heard her sister downstairs. “Mom, let Elizabeth do her stupid things. She’s a loser, anyway.”
Elizabeth just shook her head, choosing to ignore the two talking badly about her, and went to her room’s bathroom to hastily take a shower and get ready for her interview at DC Holdings Inc.
When she was just a mere child, her father was killed during an arrest warranted by the police officers of their city when he was about to be seized for illegal cases of murder and selling illegal drugs. Her mother, Elena Gonzaga, compelled her to do hard jobs and stopped her temporarily from her studies to find money and buy daily necessities in their house.
If she had not found a benefactor who was also her boss when she worked as a waitress in a bar and paid for her school tuition during college, she would not have achieved her education and degree. Elena Gonzaga was very abusive towards her, as well as her younger sister, who is Farrah Gonzaga. Farrah is the spoiled brat at their home and never did anything right.
Farrah’s fault would be hers, and even though her younger sister deserves much more contempt and reprimands for being a bad child, her mother would even defend Farrah and she would end up being blamed for the faults she never did. Elizabeth pitied herself more than anyone else in this world, for she was understanding enough to still love her mother and her sister despite their abuse towards her.
Maybe because Elizabeth taught herself to be independent, and instead of hating on Elena and Farrah, she would help them get to their senses and have a decent life. Elizabeth focused on the fact that Elena was only working at a laundry shop to find money, while Farrah was still in high school and she was coming to college. They need help more than she wants love and appreciation from them.
After all, she could never hurt her family back.
Elizabeth hovered her gaze over the hugeness and entirety of the building of DC Holdings Inc. before she could even enter. The entity and its business are known for reputable and remarkable operations and prominent products that are always seen and bought in malls and factories. The kinds of products include the necessities, clothes, and food that people need in everyday life. She has known the business for a long time, and this is a great opportunity to get a famous job.
If she gets in, she will surely have a stable life and give Elena and Farrah a good house. She has dreams and earning money will be her first step.
She breathed in and out, feeling so nervous and excited at the same time. She then started to enter the building with her formal long white sleeves and black mini skirt. Her shiny black pumps and taut ponytail with her long wavy hair made her look good and presentable for the interview.
But in the back of her mind, she is imagining herself killing her best friend Mari because she left her in the bar last night. She still could not figure out how she ended up last morning in a stranger’s bed, naked and not a virgin anymore. The thought made her so annoyed at the man she saw.
“So, tell me about yourself…” the employer asked her as he read her portfolio.
Elizabeth flashed a decent and potent smile she always makes to impress the people she talks to while sitting in front of an office table. Even though she is very nervous about it today, because she is a fresh college graduate and she has to do a good job on doing the interview, she did not make it perspicuous and obvious. She has to be confident yet humble.
