“Good day, sir. I am Elizabeth Gonzaga, and currently twenty-three years old. I finished a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Financial Management, and also graduated as a magna c*m laude,” she started and thwarted the negativities away from her mind. “I have identified myself as a hard-working person and very devoted to the jobs I apply for. In other words, I am serious and professional about the tasks that the company will give me the moment I start to work in one of your departments.”
The employer shrunk his eyes, but he was already impressed by how eloquent the interviewee was. Elizabeth was undeniably good at speaking and composing herself in an intelligent manner, just by her posture and wise words.
“Do you have any job experience, Miss Gonzaga?” he asked and closed her portfolio, now interested in her.
“Yes, sir. I did an internship during my college days. Despite also the working scholarship I took, I also experienced myself in clerical work in various malls to earn money and invest it in my education and for my family.”
Elizabeth resumed and finished her interview with the amused employer of the department. He only said that he would contact her about the result through an email and a text.
“Thank you, Miss Gonzaga, and good luck,” the manager said and turned his head to his assistant from the doorway of the office. “Next…”
Elizabeth went out of the office with her heart beating so fast, but she knew that she did her best. When her eyes went to the interviewees that were waiting to be interviewed in the area, her anxiety was staggering inside her. What if she does not get the job? What if she fails? The manager will contact her. Yes, but what if she was rejected?
She went to the elevator, silent and thinking of what she would do now. Should she call her best friend Mari? Should she go home and do laundry despite the insults her mother and her sister will throw at her? Or should she just kill herself by drinking wine or liquor?
In the middle of her hopeless yet alive thoughts, the elevator doors opened again. Her eyes went up to see the familiar dark eyes she had seen last morning. His blue pupils dilated as he hovered his gaze over her. It was the man with whom she had a one-night stand!
“What the heck are you doing here, moron?!” she busted out saying, her heart started racing again because of rage and annoyance. “How dare you show up in front of me? Are you stalking me?”
The man tightened his jaw and started walking toward her. She gaped at him and made herself glued onto the wall of the elevator. He just stepped away from her, opposite to where she was. The man was wearing clean corporate attire while holding a briefcase. The elevator moved again as Elizabeth scoffed beside him.
“How thick your face is, right?” she sardonically said and sported a smug smile as she turned to the man who would not have an iota of interest in looking at her. “After taking my virginity away, you will follow me? You are so creepy! If you don't stop following me, I will sue you!”
The man only rolled his eyes and boredly shook his head. She was pissed, so she stepped forward to his stance and glared at him.
“Why are you not answering me? You should apologize for stealing my virginity!” she added.
He looked at her with piercing blue eyes and shifted his weight so that he could confront her.
“Do you not remember how it happened?”
“Yes! And I don’t remember myself permitting you to kiss or have s*x with me!” she said hastily.
He stared at her eyes and smirked. “Do you want me to make you remember, then?”
“Well, yes! If you have evidence, then enlighten m-“
Before she could finish off her sentence, he strode toward her and snaked his arm around her waist. He leaned down and claimed her lips, which were trembling. She tried to push him away, but he already let go of the hold of the briefcase and pushed her back so that they could access their lips together.
And suddenly, she accumulated some memories in her mind, done as if there was magic done by his kisses. It was accommodating and at the same time hot. She envisions herself in the bar, her waist dancing with the man’s huge hands, and shutting her eyes tightly when he pushed himself inside her the moment they laid down on the bed.
“Oh, yes! Please… Ah!”
She gaped at what she remembered herself moaning last night with the man kissing her entrance and licking her body as if he was owning her. Elizabeth tried to chase his lips when the man retrieved his face away from hers, wanting more of his kisses.
“Now, do you remember it all?” he inquired and immediately let go of her, his action spoke of dismay and distaste.
Elizabeth only hung her mouth as she surprisingly stared at his face, could not get over how soft and kissable his lips were. She found being so licentious inside her mind as she tried to remember what happened last night. Before she could even get ahold of herself, a group of employees emerged from another floor of the building and is now about to enter the elevator.
They had a shock in their faces when they turned to the man beside her. They blanched in horror and slightly bowed their heads.
“Good morning, Mr. Montegro,” they greeted him in synchronization.
Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows despite the surprise she felt a while ago. Why are they greeting him so formally with horror? Why do they look like they are surprised by this man beside her?
She did not hear the man greeting them back. Instead, he passed by them and got out of the elevator. Pissed by his attitude, Elizabeth turned to the clamoring group of employees and asked them.
“Why were you greeting him, miss? Do you know him?” she asked one of them.
“Oh, you don’t know?” the female employee confusingly stared at her. “Mr. Montegro is the Executive Director of DC Holdings Inc.”
