1837 Words
When he returned home, Santos immediately asked how the meeting had gone. "It was fine," Malcolm said, trying to play it cool. "We talked for a while and got to know each other a little better." Santos raised an eyebrow. "And? What did you think of her?" Malcolm hesitated for a moment, not wanting to reveal too much. "She's...nice," he said finally. "But it's still early days. We'll see how it goes." Despite his attempts to downplay his interest, Malcolm couldn't stop thinking about Penila. He found himself checking his phone more frequently, hoping to see a message from her. He even caught himself doodling her name in the margins of his notebook during meetings. As the days passed, Malcolm and Santos decided to take a trip together to clear their heads. They drove up to the mountains and spent the day hiking and talking. When they returned to the cabin they had rented for the night, Santos noticed how distracted Malcolm had been throughout the day. "Okay, what's going on?" Santos asked. "You've been quiet all day." Malcolm sighed, knowing he couldn't keep it from his friend any longer. "I think I might be falling in love with Penila," he admitted. Santos raised an eyebrow. "Really? I thought you were against this whole forced marriage thing." "I am," Malcolm said quickly. "But that doesn't mean I can't have feelings for her. And besides, we're not even married yet. Who knows what will happen." Santos nodded understandingly. "Okay, fair enough. But just be careful, okay? You don't want to get your heart broken." As they drove back home the next day, Malcolm's mind was racing. He couldn't stop thinking about Penila and what their future together might look like. When he arrived home, he found Beatrice waiting for him with a home-cooked meal, as she always did. Kennedy had dropped him off at the office that morning, as he did every day. A few days later, Malcolm's parents came to visit. They were excited to hear about the meeting with Penila and wanted to know what he thought of her. Malcolm hesitated for a moment before answering. "She seems nice," he said cautiously. "But we're still getting to know each other." His parents exchanged a knowing look. "Well, that's good to hear," his mother said with a smile. "We just want you to be happy, Malcolm." Malcolm nodded, feeling the weight of their expectations on his shoulders. He knew that they wanted him to settle down and start a family, but he wasn't sure if Penila was the right person for him. Despite his growing feelings for her, he still couldn't shake the feeling that this marriage was forced upon them and not based on true love. As the weeks went by, Malcolm continued to see Penila regularly. They went on dates and got to know each other better. Malcolm couldn't deny that he was drawn to her, but he still wasn't sure if he was ready to commit to a lifetime together. Malcolm threw himself into work. He was determined to prove himself to his father and show that he was capable of taking over the family business. However, an issue came up at work that required his attention, and he found himself unable to see Penila for a while. As days turned into weeks, Malcolm missed Penila more and more. He found himself thinking about her constantly, and he couldn't wait to see her again. However, work kept him busy, and he had to travel to different cities to meet with clients and partners. During one of his trips, Malcolm couldn't help but think about Penila. He missed her smile, her laughter, and the way she made him feel. He didn't want to believe that he was falling in love with Penila just because it was a forced marriage. He didn't want to get his hopes up only to be disappointed. Meanwhile, Santos was also dealing with his own issues. He was thinking of ways to win Clara back to him, and he was determined to do whatever it takes. He confided in Malcolm, who listened and offered his support. Despite all the challenges, Malcolm managed to keep his focus on work and managed to successfully enlarge the family business. When he returned home, Beatrice was there to welcome him and take care of the house. Kennedy was also there to drop him off at the office. As for Samantha, she couldn't stand the fact that her boss was getting married. She felt like everyone in the office knew about it already, and it made her uncomfortable. She didn't like the idea of Penila becoming her new boss, and she was worried about how it would affect her job so she plotted in her mind to tell Malcolm about how she felt and she hoped that he would consider a thing with her because they had worked together for a long time and the marriage was arranged anyway. The following day at work she had rehearsed all she was going to say and was going to start from the very beginning of when she started to fall in love with him. The day he bought her coffee. Malcolm came into the office looking like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulder. There was so much work to do and it was really tiring. Expanding the company was not as easy as he thought it would be. “Hi Mal.” Samantha called out as she catwalked into his office giving him a sexy puppy look. Malcolm was taken aback, he was still wondering where that was coming from when she went up to his table and pulled his chair backwards and stood in front of him. “ I know what you’re thinking but before you say anything please listen to me.” Samantha pleased with him. At this point she was getting scared of the repercussion of her actions but she was willing to take the chance to get the man she loved. “I know you’re about to become engaged and I’ve been in deep thoughts ever since and I decided that I needed to confess about how I feel to you even if you wouldn’t accept me.” she walked away from his table going over to sit at the couch. “See look, I thought you would have noticed how much I love and care about you by now but it just seemed like I am invisible no matter what I do, before now I was willing to let it wait but some strange woman is bEre to snatch you away.” She was interpreted as she was about to continue by Malcolm who was trying to control his anger at his subordinate’s ill-talk about Penila. “You don’t dare!” He steamed out. “Whatever you’re feeling doesn’t give you the right to talk about her that way, she’s still your boss’s betrothed and you should respect her whether you like it or not because this marriage is going to fall through.” He walked out and Samantha knew that she had just been rejected. she didn’t think it’ll hurt but it sure did as hell. After the incident where Samantha's secretary threw herself at Malcolm, he was shocked and didn't know what to do but. Make sure to assured her that her job was safe and that they could continue to work together as before. Samanthawas heartbroken but accepted Malcolm's decision. Days passed, and Austin's hard work and dedication paid off as he was promoted to a higher position at the company. He was thrilled and couldn't wait to tell Malcolm the news. When he did, Malcolm was overjoyed and congratulated him on his achievement. He also promised to continue supporting Austin in his future endeavors. Malcolm’s schedule didn’t get any easier for him. He still had to attend various meetings and making arrangements. One weekend afternoon, he decided to take a break from all the chaos and hit the club with his best friend, Santos. At the club, Malcolm and Santos enjoyed themselves, sipping on drinks and dancing to the music. As they were about to leave, Malcolm spotted someone familiar in the crowd. It was Samantha, who had been hitting the club hard since the rejection. She was drunk and stumbling, and Malcolm knew he couldn't leave her like that. He and Santos approached her and offered to help her get home safely. Samantha was surprised to see Malcolm there and tried to apologize for her previous behavior. . From then on, Samantha decided to focus on herself and move on from her unrequited love for Malcolm. Malcolm's parents were thrilled when he told them that he was willing to visit Penila's parents. They knew Malcolm was doing it as a sort of responsibility not because he actually was not interested in meeting her parents. Malcolm, on the other hand, was feeling conflicted. As the day of the visit approached, Malcolm's nerves began to get the best of him. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he was making a mistake. He tried to convince himself that he was just nervous about meeting Penila's parents, but deep down, he knew that it was more than that. When they arrived at Penila's parents' house, Malcolm was immediately struck by how warm and welcoming they were. They greeted him and his parents with open arms and made them feel right at home. They spent hours talking and laughing, and by the end of the night, Malcolm knew that he was in love with her. As they were leaving, Penila's father pulled Malcolm aside and told him that he was impressed with him and that he would make a good husband for his daughter. Malcolm was taken aback by the comment, but he didn't say anything. He knew that he needed to sort out his feelings before he made any decisions. When he spoke to his parents, they weare thrilled that he at least liked the treatment he received at Penila’s home. Malcolm was torn. He wanted to be with Penila, but he also didn't want to make a hasty decision. After Malcolm's visit to Penila's parents' home, his mother couldn't contain her excitement. She was thrilled that her son had found someone who he truly cared for at least she concluded that on her own, and she couldn't wait to start planning the wedding. She showered Malcolm with love and affection, constantly reminding him of how proud she was of him and how much she wanted him to be happy. Malcolm was touched by his mother's devotion, but he also knew that he needed to take things slowly. He wasn't sure if he was ready for marriage yet, and he didn't want to rush into anything. He tried to explain this to his mother, but she wouldn't hear it. She was convinced that he had found his soulmate and that they were meant to be together.
