Chapter Thirteen
Christmas with the O’Connells this year was a loud and noisy affair. Instead of Christmas carols playing in the background from the stereo, the football game was on TV, and the mountain of gifts under the Christmas tree had all been opened. Jack and Karen had arrived the day before, meaning everyone was there at his mom’s house.
Owen had surprised Tessa that morning with a ring that, to him, matched her personality. Quirky and gorgeous. She’d loved it.
Apparently, Harold had done the same for Suzanne, as she and Tessa had spent the day comparing rings. A girl thing, he thought, as Karen, Jenny, and Charlotte joined in the fussing.
“So all is well,” Raymond said from beside him. “I heard Angela reached out to Mary Carter, even went over to meet Nathan Rand.”
