‘’Hey, I think Jamal is knocking. I was on phone with him a while ago and he promised to come see me. He could be the one at the door.’’ I explain with a shaky voice.
‘’Must he bang the door?’’ Rue asks with a raised eyebrow.
‘’That is not the question Rue. The question should be is he okay?’’ the mother says.
The father as the only male in the family stands up and walks towards the door. He peers through the opening but he shakes his head. ‘’I cannot see anyone.’’ He whispers quietly.
