Falsely Accused

Chapter Eight.

‘’Baby good morning?’’ he greets with this sweet, charming and endearing smile as usual.

This guy can make you smile even when you are in the darkest mood.

Neal is bewitchingly handsome and I know I will never replace him because my heart belongs to him. Neal and I were made for each other.

‘’Baby, are you here?’’ he asks waving his hands on my face and frowning at the same time. The charming smile is actually fading away.

‘’Um….yes. What did you say?’’

‘’I said good morning?’’ He says again moving closer to hug me and I let him.

‘’Good morning love. How have you been? It’s been a while.’’

‘’Been okay beautiful, I missed you so much.’’ He says with some look so hard to decipher or decode He looks disturbed but I can’t tell why.

‘’Everything okay love?’’ I ask him with a bit of concern.

‘’Yes,’’ he responds nervously.

‘’Why did you have to leave me alone for that long?’’

‘’Sorry baby, l know that wasn’t so cool but I am here now and I am not going away any time soon.’’ our eyes meet and I sense tears forming. He looks sad if you ask me.

I am already shedding tears because I can’t just imagine Neal left me for that long. It doesn’t make sense though, how come he went away from me without even saying goodbye.

‘’Is there anything I am missing? Aren’t you happy to see me?’’ I ask amid sobs.

‘’Why would you say that baby?’’ he asks politely.

‘’Well, because you look sad to me, you went away without a goodbye, I have missed you, Neal, I have slept without your kisses and good night wishes. I have woken up feeling cold and sad. I didn’t expect you to do that to me but I have no option. I know I shouldn’t question you but I feel betrayed. Why Neal….’’

I want to rant more but he moves even closer to me and holds my chin so I can look at him. He then hushes me and I obey.

‘’I am here now baby so please don’t worry you will not be left alone anymore. Don’t be sad because that can make me go crazy.’’ He says and my heart leaps with joy, I love him and I don’t think I have ever loved someone like this before.

‘’What have you been to all this while?’’

‘’Missing you baby, it had been so hard to survive without you.’’

 ‘’Why didn’t you give me a goodbye kiss?’’ I am so hurt but he is holding me protectively. He loves me so much and that, I know. No doubt.

His love keeps me going and I know for sure that I am not disappointing either.

I love him right back. I will always do.

He tightens his hold on me but I walk away from him, I try locating the room where we are but it looks like it’s going to be a bit hard. I look outside.

‘’I had to baby, I am so sorry I did that but I am going to make it up to you.’’ He says sadly and I wish I can get him to speak about it.

I need to know what exactly is happening.

‘’Are you sure you are here to stay?’’

For you, with you and for us. No one will separate us. We are meant to be and that’s why I am back. Doing this for the woman I love is my priority.

I look at him once again.

Neal is the soft-spoken spoken person I know.

Our love for each other is on another level and that’s the reason I really felt empty when he left.

Ours was the most admired relationship and my peers would all talk about it.

I wonder why Neal never told me that he was leaving but you know what? I am happy that he is back. My sweet love is back and I appreciate it.

‘’Come here.’’ He motions me after seating on a couch patting his laps.

I don’t know if I am not happy with him or with the fact that he left me alone without a goodbye. Who took him away anyway?

I walk hesitantly to the couch and smile sweetly at him forgetting I ever had a sad moment a minute ago and he smiles back.

I take a whole ten seconds looking at his pouty and kissable lips and he waves his hand to my face again.

I am getting lost a little bit so many times.

I need to focus on.

I start to sit on his laps but right on cue, someone walks in calling his name.

‘’We need to go brother, this wasn’t the plan.’’ He says with urgency and Neal nods.

‘’You are right, let’s get going.’’ He says sadly and then stands up.

I watch in awe as Neal leaves the room.

I will not let him walk away from me like he did the other time so I move swiftly to block his way and I see a very apologetic smile.

‘’Take care baby.’’ Is the last sentence I hear from him then he disappears.

I shout his name a number of times but I can’t find him.

I am looking everywhere for my Neal but he is nowhere to be seen.

I didn’t even have the chance to tell him about our baby. He would have known we now have a baby.

And he just walked away.

‘’Neal please come back,’’ I call after him pleadingly.

I don’t know what direction he took but I need to try calling and see if he shows up.

‘’Nada!’’ I hear a sound and I open my eyes sleepily. ‘’Are you speaking to someone?’’ she asks and I shake my head.

‘’Neal came back. He is alive and I must find him.’’

‘’Who is Neal?’’

‘’My boyfriend.’’

‘’You mean the guy that you were accused of killing?’’ my eyes go wide open.

‘’He’s dead?’’ she covers her mouth with her right palm. Then she moves closer to hug me. The hug is tight and warm.

She rubs my back fondly assuring me that all shall be well.

It was just a dream and you shall be fine.

This woman has been my strength and a shoulder to lean on for the past few days I have been here. I moved in here a few days ago after the court found out that judges were paid to incriminate me.

I was the happiest woman in the world.

I know I have issues to sort like being able to find Neilan but the fact that I am out of jail is loveable.

I hear a soft knock on the door and I lift my face from her chest when I hear Rue’s voice.

‘’How is my sweet friend doing?’’ she asks but when she notices our position with the mum she comes almost running towards us.

‘’You good Nada?’’

‘’Yes,’’ I say with a rough voice.

‘’What happened here?’’ she asks looking at her mum.

‘’She had nightmares and I think we will need to find a therapist for her.’’ She says very calmly. Rue is looking at me with a worrying look.

‘’I have been having these nightmares since you left the prison Rue,’’ I explain before she asks and she pays attention keenly.

‘’What about them. I mean what have you been seeing in the nightmare?’’ I know her question is a bit scattered but I will answer it anyway.

‘’He came back.’’

‘’Who came back where?’’

‘’Neal did.’’

‘’He did?’’ she looks surprised but she is quick to contain the look.

‘’Yes, where is he?’’

‘’He just left, I watched him walking away and I feel pathetic.’’

‘’So sorry my dear. Don’t worry about it. It was just a dream and all shall be well.’’

‘’But why Rue? Why did he have to leave without telling me goodbye? He did it yet again he left me without even wishing me well. Can you imagine?’’ I ask howling and snivelling.

She tightens her hug and pats my back gently.

‘’It is well my sister. Let’s go walk around to clear your mind.’’

‘’Thank you.’’

‘’Any time baby girl.’’

The park is cool with fresh air. We are lying on green grass and I know for a fact that I have never felt so peaceful in a long time.

I look at Rue and smile at her. She is an angel, God sent. She has made me feel like a human being.

Her parents have been so welcoming and sometimes I actually forget that I have no parents.

I haven’t heard about Naomi since I got out and Rue’s dad is working hard to get me back the baby. I miss Neilan so much.

My champion. He was there for only a few days and now he isn’t there.

‘’By the way, you seem lost. You good?’’

‘’Yes, I am.’’

‘’Do you know the ladies in the private rooms were found lying unconscious on the roadside?’'

My eyes go automatically wide open.

‘’What does that even mean?’’

‘’It means that they didn’t die in the fire.’’

‘’Is that even possible?’’

‘’You can ask that again my sister. Some of the mysterious happenings are just unheard of.’’

I shake my head, I feel confused but whichever the case, I know I will look for baby Neil.

‘’Where are they right now?’’

One of them was taken to the morgue but the morgue attendants discovered that she wasn’t dead a few days later. She was however burnt beyond recognition and I hope it will or is already a lesson to them. She was then taken to the hospital and she died a few hours later.’’

‘’What a tragedy!’’ I exclaim pitifully.

‘’It truly is.’’

‘’And the other one?’'

‘’She was taken to the hospital and is under treatment.’’ She however doesn’t talk nor eat. She is literally on a life support machine.’’

‘’So, what happened to the judge that was bribed to throw me in prison? ’’

‘’His case is continuing in court.’’

‘’Did he say who paid him?’’

‘’Not really but dad has a very strong case against him.’’

‘’I wonder why people always have to be f****d up. How can you joke with your lifetime career for a few thousands? What is so wrong with people? I know we need extra money but there are always better ways of making the money than just getting bribes and so on.’’

Rue is looking at me with a head shake as I rant.

‘’The world in itself has always been f****d up. I know you are wondering why it has to be like that but that’s the world we are in,’’ she says calmly.

We are strolling towards the street to her house when I see someone looking exactly like Neal.

‘’Did you see that Rue?’’

‘’See what Nada?’’

‘’Neal,’’ I respond innocently.

She is quiet and I swear I know her better to know she is actually thinking that I am mad or insane Her looks can show that clearly.

She wraps her hand around my shoulder and tells me that we need to get home in time for lunch.

‘’I love you sister.’’ She whispers and I wonder why Naomi cannot do the same.

‘’I love you too, girl.’’ She makes my mood warm and bright.
