The library of Twin Moon Fortress had not been touched in generations. Built into the mountain itself, the chamber was a vast hollow of stone and shadow, filled with shelves carved from ancient oak. Dust drifted in silver beams of light that broke through the cracks in the ceiling. The air smelled of parchment, ash, and time. Damon stood at the center table, surrounded by open tomes and scrolls. His hands trembled slightly as he turned another brittle page. The wounds from the Blood Eclipse had healed, but his strength was not what it used to be — and neither was his spirit. Across from him, Aria’s lantern flickered as she traced her fingers over a carved tablet. Her healer’s robes were smudged with dust, her dark hair tied loosely behind her head. “You sure these are the right texts?”
