She clenched her blanket tightly as her head moved from side to side rapidly. Her breath increased as the sweat on her forehead was glistening under the silver moonlight. Her eyebrows were scrunched up in tension as tears started leaking out of her eyes dripping from her cheeks to her sheets. A low growl came out of her throat as her nails suddenly increased and slowly turned into claws.
She was whispering, "No, don't." as she clawed at her sheets. She cried, "No." And woke up with a start.
As soon as she saw her surroundings her face showed her pain as she rested her head against the head board. She looked at the torn sheets and shook her head disappointedly. This was the tenth one this month. She wiped her head with the sleeve of her faded T-shirt and looked at the clock.
4:30 am
She removed her blanket and went to her spacious bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and silently thanked her parents for letting her complete her education. Otherwise life in New York is difficult. She would have never been able to live a good and luxurious life without good education. She washed her hair forcing her dream at the back of her head like always. She tried to reach out to her wolf but she was nowhere to be found. She was lonely without her but didn't have anyone to complain to.
After a warm and long shower she wrapped the towel around her fragile body and entered her walk-in closet. She chose a tight fitting formal dress with a pair of pencil heels. She went downstairs into the kitchen and started off with her less to no cooking skills. A strong and delicious aroma of cocoa spread around the kitchen mixed with a burnt smell of toast.
"I should stop trying to be good at this." Her stomach whined in hunger. She took her caffeine and drove to the nearest cafe and ate breakfast for two people. She often got strange looks for it but the pale beauty always won the heart of people. As a wolf it was common for her to have a huge appetite.
She entered her office smiling from ear to ear, the sadness in her heart buried deep in her eyes. She was pure and innocent and this often got her a lot of attention especially from her co-worker Tyler Jones, who was now waving at her from inside the elevator. He stopped the elevator for her. She thanked with her sweet voice with a smile having no idea about the things it did to him.
Tyler Jones was a 6'' feet tall man, focused on his work, smart and good looking. He's been crushing on her since she joined the fashion company as a fashion designer. Her utter hard work and dedication had easily helped her to get promoted to a top position in the company. Tyler and her had worked together for around five years and they had become good friends at least for her. She had made a couple of friends but none with whom she could share her past.
Once she reached her floor, she said him, "I'm going to the boss's office."
She went to the topmost floor and knocked on the door. After a while she heard a nervous 'come in'.
"Good morning, sir."
"Good morning. Come here."
"Sure sir. What is the problem?"
"Our company has been bought by another company."
"Which one?"
"Villin ."
"I've heard about this company before. They have a mysterious CEO. They hide from media coverage."
"Yeah. But I've been informed that the CEO himself is going to come today since this is their first business in New York. And he wants to meet some employees. I want you to brief him about how things work."
Her cool demeanor yet again surprised everyone. Curiosity burned in her eyes to meet the man who has managed to stay out of the clutches of the media for this long. The Villin company was spread in the entire Mexico.
As the time came near her expressions changed from cool to confused. There was something wrong with her. She was feeling restless as she played with her fingers. Her hands shivered slightly as she reached for a glass of water and gulped it down fast. After a few minutes someone entered her office hurriedly and said, "He has come."
She took a deep breath and straightened her clothes as she headed towards the boss's cabin. She stood in empty elevator weakly when a sudden jolt of energy came in her body and she faltered a bit. After reaching the topmost floor she nodded at the brunette secretary and went down the long and empty hallway.
She took a deep breath as a strong and delicious smell hit her nose. The familiarity of the smell made her dizzy. Her mind started calculating everything and by the time she reached the unacceptable conclusion she was already in front of the door. She tried to step back but her legs were not working anymore. She was glued to the spot. She took support of the wall as she tried to breath the perfume she had sprayed on her handkerchief. By now her body jolted now and then, as spurts of energy hit her internally. She was shaking her head in utter desperation when the door opened .
The sunshine from the window in the office hit her face violently in the dark hallway. The smell was as strong as ever but that did nothing to stop her from trying to run away. She fought with every last ounce of self respect she had but her instincts took over and she looked at the shoes of the man.
"She is an employee Mr. Villin." She faintly heard her boss's words.
Her eyes travelled from his shoes to his tight royal blue Armani suit and then to his body. He wore a crisp white shirt which did nothing to hide his abs underneath. Her eyes went to his chest and then his biceps. It took her sometime to tilt her head more. She trembled as she looked at the sharp jaw, pink lips and a chiseled face. Her eyes widened and mouth opened slightly as her eyes met those familiar, cold eyes she never wanted to see. The pain and hurt within her hit her with a force that knocked her out.
She felt a tingles in her entire body before everything became black and she fell limp in the arms of a familiar yet unfamiliar man. A stray tear fell out of her eyes which no one bothered to wipe.
