Piper’s POV
The door to the main hall was still closed. I stood at the door holding the bucket of red roses with trembling hands and a slightly cold sweat. It was a special day for me and Jay. We would become one and legitimate before God and everyone. Jansen would finally have the Adams surname behind his name, but most of all, he would finally have the father he’d always wanted.
“Piper, don’t be nervous. Relax and take a deep breath,” Lisa said.
I turned to her and smiled. “You always make me smile. Thank you.”
“After the reception, I have a surprise for the newlyweds,” she said.
“Umm, I hope your surprise isn’t weird.”
“Hahaha, it’s not weird. I’m sure you’ll love it,” she replied while still laughing out loud.
