Chapter 4 - Irina.

1130 Words
I start the day at the clinic like any other. The halls fill with light, employees rush around, and the phones ring nonstop. But for me, every morning is an opportunity to bring order to the world my parents created. Every euro that comes in or goes out, every social media post, every collaboration with influencers or celebrities passes through my hands. And I know that if something goes wrong, I'll be the one responsible. Me—and only me. I sit at my desk, open my computer, and begin analyzing the finances. The numbers dance in front of my eyes, but I control them all. Budgets, payments, investments. Every detail matters. Then I move to PR: emails, communications with journalists, scheduling posts and stories, planning collaborations with influencers. Every move is carefully calculated. Every word that's written or spoken must strengthen the clinic's reputation—and my own. As the hours pass, I feel the pressure of the day building. Everyone around me rushes, but I stay focused, calm, strong. There's no room for mistakes. No room for weakness. Every day is a game of strategy. And I know how to play it better than anyone. During lunch break, I decide to step outside to the clinic's café for a little fresh air. Paul is already there. His eyes are full of excitement, and his posture can't hide his impatience. "Irina!" Paul says, his smile lighting up the space. "You won't believe what I did." I sit across from him, holding my coffee and studying him carefully. "What happened?" I ask, trying to hide the curiosity in my voice. "I applied for an interview with a huge businessman," he says, his eyes sparkling. "Nick Martinez. I already sent my résumé, and I made sure they'll see me personally." For a moment, I stay silent. Nick Martinez? The name doesn't mean anything to me. To me, he's just a powerful businessman. I don't know who he truly is—the most dangerous man of the night, the kind of person who does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and never leaves anything to chance. "Paul..." I say carefully. "Are you sure? I want you to be careful. You don't know what kind of man he is." "I know!" he replies enthusiastically. "But I think I can impress him. This is the opportunity of my life." I watch the excitement on his face and feel a mixture of admiration and concern. Paul has always wanted to stand out. He's always chasing the top. But this isn't just another peak. This is Nick Martinez. And I know very well that power and influence like his aren't something you ignore or underestimate. "Alright," I finally say, taking a sip of my coffee. "Just make sure you know who you're dealing with. Be careful. Don't leave anything to chance." Paul smiles and gently takes my hand. "Don't worry," he says. "I'll handle it. I'll show him I'm reliable." As I watch him walk away to continue his day, I feel the strange sense that something big is approaching. Something that will change the way we see the world around us. But I still don't know how dark, how dangerous, and how unstoppable the man Paul wants to meet truly is. The rest of the day passes like always: finances, PR, strategic decisions. Every detail matters. But in the back of my mind, the thought that Paul will come into contact with Nick—a man who is powerful, determined, and unpredictable—won't leave me alone. Lunch break ends, the employees return to their offices, and I continue managing the clinic with the same absolute control I always maintain. But deep inside, a small part of me knows that Paul's meeting with Nick might create waves none of us have imagined yet. Lunch break is over, and my responsibilities at the clinic are finally done. I sit at my desk for a moment, checking emails, the week's appointments, the financial reports. Every detail has to be in place. But work is no longer the only thing on my mind. The day still has a long way to go—and I know exactly how to use it. I put on my most elegant dress, light makeup, soft flowing hair, and heels that emphasize my height and figure. Irina Campbell doesn't just walk. I radiate confidence. Beverly Hills is my arena, and I'm standing right in its center. I meet Emily at our favorite boutique, a place that knows every trend, every limited-edition handbag, every elegant accessory. Emily laughs as we talk about everything: work, relationships, small victories and small defeats. She's my certainty. The friend who understands me without words. My protection when life becomes too demanding. Every purchase feels like a small ritual. We try on clothes, look at ourselves in the mirror, laugh at our jokes, and comment on the lives of the people passing around us. Beverly Hills is alive. And we're living with it. A glass of champagne in hand, laughing and enjoying the moment. After shopping, we head to a cocktail bar we love. The lighting is low, the atmosphere sensual. Music plays softly, enough to set the mood without overwhelming the room. I sit on one of the tall stools, watching the people around us—the way they move, the way they look at each other, the way they speak. Beverly Hills is full of life. Full of games. Full of opportunities. And I know I belong in this world. Emily gently takes my hand. "You need to be careful about what Paul said about Nick," Emily says, more serious than before. Her warning isn't random. Even though I still don't know who Nick really is, I can feel the shadow of danger surrounding his name. "I know," I reply, taking a sip of my cocktail. "But Paul knows what he's doing... I think." My eyes fall to the glass in my hand. Behind every powerful business name, there's always a darker side. And I, Irina Campbell, know how to see beyond the shine. The night moves forward. The streets of Beverly Hills grow brighter, the lights reflecting off polished cars and glass storefronts. We keep walking, laughing, living every moment. Every detail. Every glance. Every short conversation. All part of our world. A world where the rules are written by those who have power and influence. And as the evening goes on, I feel something big getting closer. Something I can't see clearly yet. But something that will change everything. Life in Beverly Hills is full of glamour. But the shadow behind that glamour keeps me alert. And I know that when the moment comes, I'll have to play the game— by my own rules.
