KAIA'S POV
Just as I turned around the path near the clearing, I almost bumped into someone.
“Oh I'm s—” I started to apologize, but stopped when I saw him properly.
Leander looked freshly showered. His hair was still a little damp at the ends, and he wore a clean black shirt and dark jeans. He looked calm, but there was something in his eyes that made my heart ache. I guessed he was ready for the meeting with the elders. And he clearly wasn't happy about it.
“Leander,” I breathed out. “Are you headed to Athena’s?”
He nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah, that’s where I'm headed. We're supposed to head out together to meet with the elders.”
I nodded too, feeling my mouth go dry. “Um… Leander, there’s… something I need to tell you.”
