KAIA'S POV I couldn’t sit still. Back and forth I paced across my room, my phone pressed tightly to my ear as Elias spoke on the other end. The sound of the rain outside only made the tension worse. “I don't understand. Why would Alpha Gareth do something like that?” Elias said. His voice was low but serious. “I couldn't believe my ears when Jace came to me with the news." I stopped and stared out the window, watching the storm beat against the glass.
