KAIA'S POV Gareth stood near some old headstones. His face was cold and hard to read, and Donovan stood behind him, watching me closely with narrowed eyes. He leaned forward, never taking his eyes off me as he whispered something into Gareth's ear. Gareth nodded, said something back, and then they both started to walk toward us. “Kaia,” Gareth said, his voice carrying a hint of something I couldn't quite pinpoint. “Your father says you were the one who found Penny.” My throat felt dry, but I nodded. “Yes, Alpha.” At this point, I wasn't even in the mood to argue or exchange words with him, not on this matter.
