The relief I felt only moments ago from Leander's announcement vanished the instant Dylan suddenly started coughing again. The raw sound of the cough ripped through the room. Before I could even move, he doubled over, his face going pale. And then he collapsed right in front of us.
Everything happened so fast. We all rushed forward, arms out to catch him before he hit the floor. My heart slammed in my chest, fear mixing with shock until I could barely breathe.
"Dylan!" I called, but there was no response. He couldn't hear me.
Athena quickly wiped away the tears that had fallen earlier. In the next moment, her whole body seemed to shift. Her shoulders squared, her chin lifted, and her voice turned firm. “Get him upright. Dax, help me hold him steady.”
