I kept pacing up and down Zara's living room, waiting for her to walk through the doors of her living room.
I watched how she calmed Vic from going through the ledge. That kind of experience changes people. I only hope it hasn't changed her.
The door of the living room busted wide open and Zara, Vic and Evans walked in.
Zara stood on her heels as soon as she saw me. She probably thought I would have left after my outbursts.
“Can we talk?” I asked, swallowing hard. I didn't think this was the right time and she might refuse.
“Matthew, I don't think…’’
“I'll be in the room Zara,” Vic said to her. “Evans can take me.”
Zara looks at Evans who nodded at her and took Vic's hands.
“Thank you,” I whispered to Vic, who just gave us a little smile.
